I think it’s made up but I love it

I came across the name Anavieve recently and I’m now in love. I’ve always kept my eye out for a good [name_f]Anne[/name_f]/[name_f]Anna[/name_f] but I just haven’t found one that I love. But now I’m hesitantly in love.

What are your brutal options on Anavieve? I saw it spelled Anavieve but does Annavieve make more sense? Is it even usable?

Thank you for your input!!

I would pronounce it as soft “A”. Anavieve I would pronounce as “ahna” and not “[name_f]Anna[/name_f]” where as Annavieve I’d say “[name_f]Anna[/name_f].” I’m not sure what pronounciation you were looking for but I think it pronounced with the soft “A” is beautiful.

Gosh, I love this! I might love it even more than my longtime fave [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]! A friend of mine has a great-grandparent with this name, and I was surprised to not find it listed on this site. The previous anecdote indicates to me that even if it’s made up, it at least has a bit of history. I prefer the Anavieve spelling with one “n,” although it doesn’t make a huge difference. And yes, very usable, in the age of [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Viviana[/name_f], and [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]!

I’ve had this one on my long list for awhile! it’s beautiful and though I do think it’s ‘made up’ it has some history of usage. I think I originally came across the name while doing some historical research on immigrants to [name_f]Canada[/name_f] and the US in the early 1800’s. So made up, but made up a long time ago. And the spelling I came across was ‘Annevieve’

I mean every name had to have been created at some point, Annavieve etc does have some use and I definitely think it’s usable

I’ve seen Annevieve (this spelling, I think!) on multiple lists and websites; I think I heard it was a combination of [name_f]Anne[/name_f]/[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. From what I remember, it’s always listed as a [name_m]German[/name_m] smoosh name, sort of like [name_f]Hannelore[/name_f], Hannelotte, [name_f]Liselotte[/name_f]/[name_f]Lieselotte[/name_f], Annegret, etc.! I think they’re all super intriguing and lovely, but I’m not sure I’d actually have the guts to use one of them for my child.

Good luck!

[name_f]Every[/name_f] name is either made up or taken from a place, or a surname, or a description or a variation or diminutive of another name, or joining 2 names (eg [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f])… or from something else, at some point, so I wouldn’t get hung up on whether it’s ‘made up’. I think that names sounding new or ‘made up’ often get a bad wrap because they seem somehow artificial or just don’t work very well. When they work - eg [name_f]Wendy[/name_f], [name_f]Pamela[/name_f], they take off and become part of the name lexicon. Anavieve really works in my mind. I like this spelling and both ways of pronouncing the first syllable.

it’s very pretty. But i think I like Anvieve (ahn-vee-ev) even more.

This was some awesome feedback! Thank you all! I’m going for the [name_f]Anna[/name_f] pronunciation because it’s a family name. I’m glad to hear it has been used. Again you are all wonderful and I loved the feedback!
