After list after list after list, I finally find myself addressing our baby to be by a first name when talking about her. [name]Zenobia[/name]. My husband and I both like it alot. As for a middle name I was thinking [name]Nevis[/name], [name]Zenobia[/name] being feminine, I wanted a quirky middle name. I also considered [name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Nevis[/name] [name]Dahlia[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you have any mn suggestions? Because I still have a few weeks left, I still have the name [name]Andromeda[/name] in the back of my head…I really like it for some reason…thoughts?
I’m not sure how I feel about [name]Nevis[/name] for a girl. I went to school with a boy and that was his first name.
I think with such an ‘out there’ name like [name]Zenobia[/name], you need a classic, ‘normal’ name for her to fall back on if she decides [name]Zenobia[/name] isn’t right.
[name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Helen[/name]
[name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name]
I think it’s fantastic when you find a name that “feels” right, one that you’ve already connected to your daughter. I think that sways the choice more than anything anyone else can say!
I do love [name]Zenobia[/name], though. It’s quirky, feminine, vintage-y and exotic all at once. [name]Andromeda[/name] is wonderful as well- it has the mythological connection, as well as the astronomical one, which I think would be very special for a little girl!
I’d say, hold onto them both, and see which one “connects” more to your daughter throughout the rest of your pregnancy. By the time you meet her in person, I think one of them will stick.
Great names, and best of luck!
[name]Hi[/name]!
I think [name]Zenobia[/name] is pretty cool, though it does remind me of Genovia, the fictional land that is the setting for The [name]Princess[/name] Diaries, if you’re familiar with that. If you decide you don’t want to go with [name]Zenobia[/name], I think [name]Zinnia[/name] would be the perfect name for you - it has that quirky Z initial, it has a very similar sound to [name]Zenobia[/name] without the connection, and it is a floral name (which you must like, considering [name]Dahlia[/name])! I love [name]Zinnia[/name] and the Zinny nickname!
As for middle names for either name, I agree with [name]Iris[/name] that a classic is the best bet to balance an exotic, unusual name. I’m not in love with [name]Nevis[/name], myself, and I think [name]Dahlia[/name] is too exotic of a flower to match with the other names - I’d choose something a bit more typical. Here are my ideas:

[name]Lemon[/name]
I totally agree with [name]Lemon[/name]! Great suggestion of [name]Zinnia[/name]! I actually know a little [name]Zinnia[/name] at the school I work at (she isn’t on my casload … but I always see her in class and she is an absolute doll)! Her siblings and family all call her “Zinny” for short and which I think is sweet.
[name]Zenobia[/name] being so exotic might be better balanced with a classic sounding name in the middle. Otherwise I think it is a great choice - especially if you already feel connected to it!
Good luck naming and let us know what you decide! :o)
After checking on this name I found out that [name]Zenobia[/name] was a famous Syrian queen in the 3rd century. However, [name]Zenobia[/name] was the last part of the combo in her name. Her first name was [name]Aurelia[/name], ie [name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Zenobia[/name]. I think that [name]Aurelia[/name] is a very pretty name and that the combo works beautifully so I would opt for that combo. I also think that [name]Zena[/name] works well too if you are looking for a name similar to [name]Zenobia[/name].
I think [name]Zenobia[/name] is a cool name, definitely unique but not so much that it will be mispronounced by everyone. I like [name]Zinnia[/name] a lot, think it’s beautiful! My first thought with [name]Nevis[/name] as a middle name is nevus, which is the medical term for mole. Not sure if that matters but in my head is Dr Evil from [name]Austin[/name] [name]Powers[/name] going moley-moley-moley… Maybe I’m way off, if so, just ignore me!
[name]Zenobia[/name] is lovely I would totally choose it over [name]Andromeda[/name]!
Well my husband and I are pretty set on [name]Zenobia[/name]…as pretty as [name]Zinnia[/name] is, we are either going with [name]Zenobia[/name] or [name]Andromeda[/name]…but thanks for the first name suggestions. As for middle names…Im not so much a fan of the classic overused names. Any other suggestions besides commonly suggested classical names?
I knew a [name]Zenobia[/name] in college and she was absolutely beautiful and very kind. I only think of positive things when I think of that name
I love [name]Zenobia[/name]! I’m not really a fan of [name]Andromeda[/name], because it reminds me of the science fiction book, The [name]Andromeda[/name] Strain.
I knew a girl in high school named [name]Zenobia[/name], she was really popular and on the step team. I always thought it was so exotic… I was jealous of it.
As for middle names, I’ll get back with some really unusual ones…I have to dig through my lists. =)
I’m really sorry to make this comment and I hope you are not offended.
Does the name [name]Zenobia[/name] not remind anyone else of the word ‘xenophobia’?
I’m afraid that is what I was reminded of immediately when I heard it and it makes me dislike the name!
Good luck with your naming decisions.

[name]Lemon[/name]
I remember that you liked the name [name]Tuesday[/name] so how about [name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Day[/name]?
What about [name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Vera[/name]?
Perhaps [name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Guinevere[/name] or [name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Verity[/name]?
[name]Lemon[/name]
I was thinking the EXACT same thing. [name]Zenobia[/name] is pretty, but it’s a lot of name and I think it needs something to bring it down to earth a bit to make it work for a real live child. [name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Andromeda[/name] is a terrible offender in this regard in that it just really increases the out-there-ness of the name rather than making it feminine and accessible and turns it into a characateur of a wacky name instead. That said, I don’t think you need to use something overly plain in the middle, like [name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Jane[/name], if that is not your style.
[name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Dahlia[/name] is actually going in a direction that works stylistically. Unfortunately, however, the two names rhyme in the ending so that won’t work. Another flower name might be perfect, though, such as [name]Zenobia[/name] [name]Violet[/name].
