I want to hate this name...but I think I love it...What do you think???

Sophiana? Never heard it, saw it today. My husband is dead set on [name]Arabella[/name] so there’s no way I can use it even as a middle b/c my last name starts with an S so that would make her initials A.S.S. lol…but what do you think? [name]Love[/name] it or hate it??? I want to hate it, but for some reason I absolutely love it

Not a fan only because [name]Sophia[/name] is so popular. Therefore, it sounds like you are just adding on unnecessary letters to the name which makes it less classy.

I don’t really like it and I definitely would not want the initials A.S.S. [name]How[/name] about
[name]Elliana[/name]
[name]Adriana[/name]
[name]Briella[/name]
[name]Oriana[/name]
[name]Lilliana[/name]
[name]Sybella[/name]
[name]Christabella[/name]

Sounds fussy. Prefer [name]Sophia[/name] to be honest.

A little over the top for me, but it is not bad. I prefer [name]Sophie[/name] on its own.

I like [name]Sophie[/name]-[name]Anna[/name]

My thoughts, too! I love [name]Sophie[/name], and [name]Sophie[/name]-[name]Anna[/name] is really nice.

I agree with pp it sounds fussy and less classy. I much prefer [name]Arabella[/name]. Other ideas could be [name]Anna[/name] [name]Sophia[/name], [name]Sophie[/name]-[name]Anne[/name], [name]Sophia[/name], [name]Sophia[/name]-[name]Anne[/name], [name]Annabella[/name]

I don’t hate it but neither do I like it. It’s quite a mouthful and sounds scrunched together. [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Arabella[/name]!

I prefer [name]Sophie[/name], [name]Sophia[/name] or [name]Sophia[/name]-[name]Anne[/name] or [name]Sophie[/name]-[name]Ann[/name].

I like Sophiana, but then again, I’m a sucker for -iana names. I know someone who just used Sophina (so-fee-nah), and Sophiana reminds me of that. I actually like the sound of Sophiana more, although I would probably go with the simple [name]Sophia[/name] or [name]Sophie[/name] if it were me. It is intriguing, though.

My husband responded to my suggestion in a text with: HER NAME IS [name]ARABELLA[/name]. He also is not a fan of [name]Sophie[/name] based names so it’s totally out the window. I’ve just never heard it and really like it. I just feel like I’m going to be the “[name]Bella[/name] police” the rest of my life, correcting people that it’s “not [name]Bella[/name], it’s [name]Arabella[/name]” [name]Ah[/name] well.

I just heard Nobella today and thought it was amazing, but I think it’s in the same boat–bit too fussy and made up sounding.

I prefer [name]Sophia[/name] or [name]Sophronia[/name]. To prevent the A.S.S initials, use two middle names.

There’s a character in [name]Katherine[/name] Kurtz’s Deryni novels named Sofiana, which i think looks better - and i do think its pretty. FWIW, i say her name in my head more like Sof-yana rather than 3 distinct syllables (the fantasy country she’s from is vaguely Middle Eastern, somehow that’s just how it seemed right to me). “[name]Sophie[/name]-anna” sounds sort of too-much to me.

Sophiana looks made up to me – like someone likes [name]Sophie[/name] but wants it to be different so they added “ana”. But I don’t know much about names, so it could very well be a valid, storied name. I am a total sucker for [name]Sophie[/name] and [name]Sophia[/name], and Sofiana looks a little more like a real name, as pp mentioned, but still slightly made up. I do much prefer [name]Arabella[/name], and I really don’t think people will call her [name]Bella[/name] unless you call her [name]Bella[/name]. If she is always introduced as [name]Arabella[/name], or [name]Ara[/name], or whatever nn she goes by, no one will just randomly start calling her [name]Bella[/name]. And if they do, you can always correct them. But I really don’t think it will happen.

Also, despite the initials issue, [name]Arabella[/name] Sophiana seems a bit (okay [name]WAY[/name]) over the top for a first and middle combo – even worse if your last name ends in “a” which I can’t remember if you mentioned (and I don’t know how to save this and go back and check). [name]Arabella[/name] [name]Sophie[/name] is super cute though. If your husband is getting the final say on the first name maybe you can get [name]Sophie[/name] for the middle?
