[name_f]Madeira[/name_f] is synonymous with whisky and wine barrels. At least for me, maybe that’s not as obvious to others as something like [name_f]Chardonnay[/name_f], but that’s a hard no for me. Take this lightly I guess, I work in booze. It’s a lovely island.

I also have never met a nice [name_f]Abigail[/name_f], so it’s soured my personal perception of it.

Thank you ziggy2112 for your opinion!

Spelling really makes a difference for me. I wouldn’t use [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f] (and so ticked it for never use), but I like [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]. So, be aware the spelling you choose can skew the results!

I’ll pay more attention to the spelling

[name_f]Madeira[/name_f] is in the lead so far…

I voted for [name_f]Madeira[/name_f] and [name_f]Demetria[/name_f].
I just don’t like how [name_f]Madeira[/name_f] sounds like.
[name_f]Demetria[/name_f] is a pretty name, but I can’t imagine giving it to my kid.

Cérise and [name_f]Macy[/name_f] don’t appeal to me at all.

[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] is my least favorite. I am not fond of the sound. I am also not particularly fond of [name_f]Demetria[/name_f] (misread this as dementia at first) and [name_f]Madeira[/name_f].

Thank you sapphire moon for your opinion!

Cérise because I do not know how accent mark is pronounced. [name_f]Demetria[/name_f] because I am more familiar with Demet and the ria part is unnecessary to me. And [name_f]Libby[/name_f], just because I do not like it as much as other names in the list.

I wanted to like [name_f]Demetria[/name_f] but at first glance I read it as “demented” and it sort of threw me off…
Cérise sounds like it would be a very difficult name to pull off and I don’t like how hissy it sounds with all the “S’s”.
I know way too many Kaitlins and they are ALL spelled differently. So I’d avoid this name because it feels bland to me, but no one gets the spelling right since there are simply so many spellings out there.
[name_f]Macy[/name_f] makes me think of the department store [name_f]Macy[/name_f]'s and on top of that I also think of pepper spray (mace).

The rest aren’t my style and [name_f]Ava[/name_f] in particular is pretty but currently way too popular for me to ever consider. I’m not familiar with [name_f]Madeira[/name_f]'s connections to alcohol since I’m underage, but it’s something I wouldn’t know how to pronounce either. And as a rule of thumb, I’d stay away from alcoholic references unless it’s something that was a popular (and frequently used) name first and foremost (like [name_f]Margarita[/name_f] [[name_m]Even[/name_m] then, I’d leave that in the middle] and [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [thankfully it’s not a terribly popular mixed drink])

[name_f]Libby[/name_f] is a cute nickname but I would definitely have it attached to something more formal like [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f], [name_f]Liberty[/name_f], etc. [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] is a little generic but I think it’s better than [name_f]Flower[/name_f]. Still, I’d keep it in the middle.

[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] is beautiful but I wouldn’t have the courage to use it. I don’t like how vulnerable the name is to crass jokes. And the name has a bad association with the popular sitcom The Office (an insufferable character named her daughter [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] which everyone mistook for “ass-turd” and so on and so forth)
The meaning of course is lovely, but I think the alternatives like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], [name_f]Sigrid[/name_f], and even [name_f]Signe[/name_f] are so much nicer in comparison.

And finally, [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] is a very un-problematic name. It’s a tad boring to me since I’ve met a lot of [name_u]Abby[/name_u]'s and Abigails but it’s a very respectable name.

I hope this helps!

[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f] are my least favorites.

Thank you elifsu for your opinion!

[name_f]Madeira[/name_f] is literally “wood” in my language (Portuguese), so this one. I don’t even see it as a name (word names are QUITE unusual in Portuguese). Not counting “[name_f]Madeira[/name_f]”, I would pick [name_f]Macy[/name_f]: it looks boring, old-fashioned and childish at the same time (I didn’t know this was possible!).
