Earlier I held a poll with tons of “I” names, and I was surprised to see [name_f]Ida[/name_f] take third place (after more predictable [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f]).
Would you use [name_f]Ida[/name_f]? The poll made me like the name more. It’s also my great-great-grandmother’s name. Any favorite combos? I like…
I would use [name_f]Ida[/name_f]! I think of the early 20th century song “[name_f]Ida[/name_f]! Sweet as apple cider.” [name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] are my favorites.
[name_f]Ida[/name_f] is lovely. I like [name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] the most. It think it pairs well with some of my favourite middles e.g. Ida Clementine, Ida Vespertine, Ida Rosemary, Ida Genevieve, Ida Beatrix and Ida Marion. I also like the ring of Ida Celeste.
I absolutely love [name_f]Ida[/name_f]! It’s my top first name for a girl right now. I think it hits a sweet spot- simple but not insubstantial, multi-cultural and easy to pronounce in a lot of languages, heard of but not common. I also love the meaning and the history.
My top name for a girl is [name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. From yours, I love [name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and [name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]!
Ida is wonderful! I love it for its simplicity, sweetness, gentle strength, and understated unexpectedness. It’s perfect with a longer middle, and I think I’d go for something a little whimsical–[name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]? [name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]? [name_f]Ida[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]?
