[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries,
[name_m]New[/name_m] here and currently TTC. I just know it’s going to take more than 9 months to pick a name, if all goes to plan fingers crossed.
I’ve had my heart set on my baby girls name since i was about 13. I always knew i’d have a little [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]. With a middle name most likely honoring DH’s mother, [name_f]Helen[/name_f] in some way. No amount of “oh, that’s so ordinary” from any amount of family is going to change my mind on how much i adore this name, but I just cant find a name equally as special to us for a boy.
Our last name is rather hard to work with, (Facer) and rules out a lot of boys names i would use in a heart beat if not for ending with er, starting with F or is a word, simply because it doesn’t sound nearly masculine enough for my tastes or it gives great teasing opportunities. Some examples of this; [name_m]Archer[/name_m], [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], [name_m]Fox[/name_m] and [name_m]Ace[/name_m]. [name_m]Fox[/name_m] was my go to for so long, until i actually said it out loud one day and realized I would be naming my son [name_m]Fox[/name_m] Face. Other names I like but don’t love include [name_u]Orion[/name_u] (astronomy connection with [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], rather matchy), [name_m]Julien[/name_m], [name_u]Rex[/name_u], [name_u]Rafe[/name_u], [name_m]Odin[/name_m]. Also liking [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] but would never be able to use them because of how popular they’ve become.
Would love some help thinking up potential boy names. [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to offer middle names too, and thanks in advance for your ideas.
Wow, thank you so much for some great ideas. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]! Why didn’t I think of that? We actually have a little [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] in our family, my cousins first boy, otherwise this would have been a top contender. There are no other males in our family we want to honor with names, it would be easier having something to base it off, probably why boys names are a struggle for us. Thanks again.
Go esita, you’re on fire!
[name_m]Julien[/name_m] and [name_m]Julius[/name_m] have been on my list for months, but would more likely fill the middle spot. And [name_m]Cedric[/name_m], [name_m]Calloway[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] are just amazing. I have a soft spot for Celtic and Irish names. As well as names tied to literature, music and mythology, so definitely on the right track! I have taken much inspiration from your wonderfully enticing signature!
If you are worried about a clash with your last name, I would consider a first name of at least three syllables, which seems to drown out your last name (in terms of emphasis - there is nothing wrong with your last name).
Mythological/Greek names that might go with [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] include [name_m]Demetrius[/name_m], [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m], [name_m]Lysander[/name_m], and [name_m]Archimedes[/name_m] (maybe a little much but the nickname [name_m]Archie[/name_m] would be kind of cool).
