Ideas to honor a Grandfather named Lester

I’m not planning on having a child anytime soon. But if I had a son, I though it would maybe be nice to honor him in some way, such as in a middle name most likely. But to me, the name [name_m]Lester[/name_m] just sounds too out of date and it’s proving really difficult to think of something else that sounds nice.

For a girl…
[name_u]Leslie[/name_u]
[name_f]Esther[/name_f]
[name_f]Hester[/name_f]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]

For a boy…
[name_m]Chester[/name_m]
[name_m]Sylvester[/name_m]
[name_m]Forester[/name_m]
[name_m]Alessio[/name_m]
[name_m]Lesandro[/name_m]

You might have to get creative! What was [name_m]Lester[/name_m]'s birth month or favorite hobby?

You could also use some of the letters in [name_m]Lester[/name_m], e.g., [name_m]Le[/name_m]- names ([name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_u]Lennox[/name_u]…there’s a lot) or maybe [name_u]Sterling[/name_u] (for the ster and L).

Maybe just use [name_u]Les[/name_u] in the middle spot, e.g. using names from your signature, [name_m]Connor[/name_m] [name_u]Les[/name_u], [name_m]Roman[/name_m] [name_u]Les[/name_u]…

I’ll second above suggestions of [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m], [name_u]Les[/name_u], and [name_m]Alessio[/name_m] sounding nice for the middle spot ([name_m]Sylvester[/name_m] may have other associations with the cat and Stallone, which may or may not bother you). What about Allister/Aleister/[name_m]Alistair[/name_m]/Alester?

Another way to honour your grandfather is to use the initials of his first and middle name. It expands your options and works well for either gender. So you could use [name_u]Lionel[/name_u] or any other “L” names that you love.

[name_m]Sylvester[/name_m] was my first thought.

[name_u]Lesley[/name_u], [name_u]Lee[/name_u], [name_m]Leander[/name_m], [name_m]Kester[/name_m], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_m]Lewis[/name_m], [name_m]Lars[/name_m], [name_u]Luca[/name_u]?

This was my first thought as well. I think [name_u]Les[/name_u] would work well as a middle name

I like the suggestions of [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]. I would also suggest Lestat, which has a cool literary connotation and would make an interesting middle name [name_f]IMO[/name_f].

All I can think to add is [name_u]Lex[/name_u]

[name_u]Lee[/name_u]/[name_u]Leigh[/name_u]
[name_u]Leslie[/name_u] ([name_u]Lesley[/name_u] for a girl /Australian spellings)

I second [name_m]Kester[/name_m]! Super cute and unique.
