Identical Twin Girls Caroline and Charlotte

I think they work well and are perfect with your other kids names! I knew sisters named [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and I never once thought anything of it. I don’t think most people would recognize they derive from the same name, except for major name nerds

Congratulations on your twin girls !
I adore the regal names your kids have !

I think [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] totally work as twin sisters, and with your older kids . [name_f]My[/name_f] apprehension would be the shared initial for twins! Would you be open to [name_f]Karoline[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] ? I also love the nickname potential [name_u]Karo[/name_u] and [name_f]Carly[/name_f] , [name_f]Linny[/name_f] and [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] and [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]

I would not use [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] together. I really like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] with [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] better than I like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. With the choice of so many royal names that would work so well with your children’s names, I’d love….

I would rather try to have names with different initials. However, if they are your absolute favourites I don’t think they’re too similar to use.

I think it’s fine! Especially if they have distinct nns like [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lotta[/name_f]. And middle names will different too so

Wow I so appreciate all these thoughts. I’m actually surprised there are so many who think they don’t work and would use different starting initials. Unfortunately I can’t use [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], but [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is on the table (though it would take some convincing for my husband). Could be [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. [name_u]Or[/name_u] maybe [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] could be considered, but I kind of like all the names having different endings, and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] already ends in the -a sound.

I’ve dug up some other royal names to go with [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_u]Henry[/name_u], and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]:

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Louise[/name_u]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]

Plus obviously [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. Are there other combinations that seem better than [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]? (The other names we can’t use for various reasons.)

Thank you!

I’m actually really warming up to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. Thoughts?

[name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_u]Henry[/name_u], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]

[name_u]Or[/name_u]

I think they go very well! They both have a classic, solid feminine feel. I actually feel like [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] works better with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] than [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] does stylewise.

I still like the original [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] & [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] I’m generally a fan of matching initials for twins & I really don’t think they’re too matchy. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] & [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is a close second, though!

I think [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] would be a lovely combo.

I think that [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] are in no way too close to each other. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though they start with the same letter, they have different sounds. I like the fact that they feel together but unique as well. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is also an equally amazing option. I prefer [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], but it doesn’t go as well with your other kids. I would probably never use [name_f]Louisa[/name_f].

Best of luck!

I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] best, but I would choose different if [name_u]Louise[/name_u] was [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], and be more on board if [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] was [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]! [name_m]Just[/name_m] putting it out there!

I think giving twins (especially identical twins) intentionally similar names can cause them to feel like “carbon copies of one another”, and I feel like you should empower them to be individuals. (Plus, similar names will make it easier to mix them up)

To me, they are too much the same, though I like them both.

I agree with this also.

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] don’t sound similar at all to me, so unless you’re a name nerd, I don’t see it being a huge hurdle. But I think the nod to their origins is actually pretty cute!
