Hello! I am pregnant with identical twin girls!! So exciting! I have one daughter named [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] (nn Ginny). I am trying to think of names for the twins. I love [name_u]Marian[/name_u] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f], but my husband is concerned with [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] feeling left out not having an ‘M’ name. The middle names are going to be [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] (family names). I like vintage and classic names! Any suggestions? Thanks!
Congrats!
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
and
[name_f]Valarie[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f]?
I think maybe if they weren’t twins the older daughter might feel like the odd one out by having a different initial but it is very common for twins to share a first initial. I don’t think it’s a big deal personally.
Marian and Margot are adorable together.
If not then maybe:
Hazel
Opal
Evangeline
Josephine
Beatrice
Catherine
Felicity
Verity
Rosemary
Dorothea
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]
Agreed!
I think Marion and Margot are absolutely perfect. They’re so darling with big sister Virginia / Ginny, too. Sooo great!
Congratulations! X
Ditto!!
[name_u]Marion[/name_u] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] are lovely! But if you don’t want two M’s, maybe you’d like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f].
I think they fit lovely with big sister [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] “Ginny”
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] is fun! I love [name_u]Marian[/name_u] with Virginia; such an underused charming mid century gem. I don’t like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as much; maybe because it sounds too clunky to me and maybe because it’s kind of getting trendy. I also think that [name_u]Marian[/name_u] & [name_f]Margot[/name_f] are a little close for sisters. I would give twins their own initials if possible so that they don’t feel so lumped together; especially if they’re identical. Make an exception to this recommendation if the two names that your husband and you absolutely love the most happen to be the same initial though.
Anyway! A few more ideas…and sorry for any repeats. How about…
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Anita[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_u]Louise[/name_u]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
Margaret…I think that I like the idea of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] nn [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
I think the twins matching would be fine but I’m not a huge fan of repeated initials in general so I would keep [name_u]Marian[/name_u] because I think it goes best with [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] and then find a new third.
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f], [name_u]Marian[/name_u], and…
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f]
[name_f]Judith[/name_f]
[name_u]Shirley[/name_u]
[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f]
[name_f]Pauline[/name_f]
[name_u]Louise[/name_u]
[name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
I also like twins to have different initials unless, like @MichelleM stated, they are the names you love the most. I think they feel like a unit rather than individuals sometimes and separate initials may help.
Virginia/Ginny and….
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Audra[/name_f]
Marguerite/Margo
[name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_u]Marian[/name_u] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] are so sweet with big sister [name_f]Ginny[/name_f].
I can also see Ariadne/ Ariann working with [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] so that you avoid the double letter M. [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] , [name_u]Arian[/name_u] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Arianne[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
Other names I love for you
- [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
- [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
- [name_f]Lynette[/name_f]
-Lydia - [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
- [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] / [name_f]Nadine[/name_f]
I agree with @whatchamacallit! Marion and Margot are beautiful, and I think your daughter wouldn’t feel left out. I know a girl who has an “R” name (so does her sister) but her other sister’s name starts with an “A”. No one feels left out in that sibset! However, if you want some other ideas, I’ll suggest ~
Daphne
Beatrice
Clara
Georgia
Felicity
Catherine
Elizabeth
Lillian
Charlotte
Ophelia
Ella
Lucy
Clare
June
Juliet
Sierra
Penelope
Thanks everyone! Lots of y’all’s suggestions are on our list! We really like [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. We almost named our first daughter [name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Frances[/name_f], so that is on the table as well!
[name_u]Marian[/name_u] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] are nice, but sound kind of similar to me with the [name_u]Mar[/name_u]- beginning. What about keeping one of them and finding something that works with it and [name_f]Virginia[/name_f]?
[name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] (stealing this because it’s gorgeous!) and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] and [name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] and [name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] and [name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Delia[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] and [name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
Good luck!
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f], [name_u]Marian[/name_u] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] are so lovely together!
Congrats on your pregnancy!
Some suggestions to match [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] ‘Ginny’ (which I love btw)
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] & [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] (Dottie and Trixie)
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] & [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] (Emma/Mels and Penny)
[name_f]Antonia[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] & [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] (Annie & Connie)
[name_f]Marianne[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] & [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] (Mary/Annie and Leni)
I personally think that since your babies will be twins, it will not be strange for them to have a matching initial whilst your eldest will not have that same initial. [name_f]Do[/name_f] what feels right for you and I hope this helps in some way!
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f] with [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] & [name_f]Lisette[/name_f]?
