Slowly starting to get a girls list that my husband and I both like and have noticed we both like the ie sounding names. We already have a girl [name_f]Elsie[/name_f].
Our list at the moment:
[name_f]Polly[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f]
[name_u]Riley[/name_u]
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Hallie[/name_f]
What are your thoughts on our list? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any others to add?
Thanks
I think [name_f]Polly[/name_f] and [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] sound best with [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]! Particularly [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]! You don’t hear it much and it has the same cute factor as [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]!
I [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] seem too similar like twins named [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] and [name_u]Shelly[/name_u] to me.
I like [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_u]Riley[/name_u] or [name_f]Polly[/name_f].
I [name_f]Holly[/name_f] better than Haillie and I like [name_f]Molly[/name_f] better than [name_f]Polly[/name_f]. I also like [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
With [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], I really like [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]! They aren’t too similar, sound vintage and bright, and are very sweet. Other ideas:
[name_f]Aggie[/name_f]: This choice is very unique, and just as lively and gorgeous as [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. It’s vintage like [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] and [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] as well. [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]/[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]/[name_u]Avery[/name_u]: These choices are a bit more mainstream, like [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], but just as gorgeous and substantial. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]: I like the connection with the “l” sound, and this name is really beautiful. It has many sounds of very popular names, like [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], but is not overused. [name_f]Avie[/name_f]: A short, unique choice with strong sounds but also a great deal of sweetness. [name_f]Bailie[/name_f]/[name_u]Bailey[/name_u]: These names are modern and contain the sounds of [name_u]Riley[/name_u], but also has some of [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] and [name_f]Hallie[/name_f]'s sounds. It has quite a lot of life, just like [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]: A beautiful, evocative, fairly unusual choice, and vintage, like [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. This is one of my favorites for you. It reminds me of [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] and [name_f]Heidi[/name_f]. [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]: A modern classic, warm and beautiful. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] sound so lovely together. [name_f]Macy[/name_f] is another excellent option. [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]: Sweet and with a long history of use. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] are wonderful sisters. [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]: Very bright, vintage, and stylish. I love this for you. [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] is another choice in the same vein. [name_f]Indie[/name_f]: So much sweetness here, like [name_u]Riley[/name_u], but it picks up many of the sounds of [name_f]Heidi[/name_f]. This is a really stylish, unsual pick. [name_f]Libby[/name_f]: I like this for many of the same reasons I like [name_f]Indie[/name_f].
Thanks I’m really liking [name_f]Polly[/name_f] atm. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] although beautiful names, they are extremely popular in my area. Not that I have an issue with popular names, they’re just a little too popular unfortunately.
I like [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f], [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] and [name_f]Polly[/name_f], as names and with [name_f]Elsie[/name_f].
Others:
[name_f]Hattie[/name_f]
[name_f]Marnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] nn [name_f]Molly[/name_f]/[name_f]Polly[/name_f]
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mimi[/name_f]
And like [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] from pps.
Thanks for the reply. I hadn’t thought of hallie and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] sounding similar, thanks for pointing that out to me We have discussed both molly and holly and both still like [name_f]Polly[/name_f] better. Unfortunately my dad is poppy to his grand kids so that counts that name out.
Thanks for your reply, some great names there I love [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] but can’t get my husband on board. I also have [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]/[name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Libby[/name_f] on my list that husband likes but not sure about.
Thanks for your reply we had josie on our list when pregnant with [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and one of our close mates has used it on their daughter since so unfortunately can’t make the list this time. I really like [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], thanks
Thanks for your reply, I think polly [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] and [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] are my favourite atm too. [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] has been one that has intrigued me. I don’t really like the longer versions of it and never really know if it holds up as a stand alone name. Thanks for getting me thinking about it again
[name_f]Polly[/name_f] and [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] are both gorgeous and the standouts from your list for me. And I love both with sister [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. I’m not such a fan of the others. [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is a lovely suggestion.
My favourite from your list is [name_f]Polly[/name_f]. It has the same sweet, simple vintage vibe as [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], and hits the sweet spot of being recognisable but not commonly used.
Here are some more suggestions:
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f]/[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Milly[/name_f]
[name_f]Tilly[/name_f]
[name_f]Callie[/name_f]
[name_f]Carrie[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Peony[/name_f]
[name_u]Penny[/name_u]
[name_f]Rosie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lettie[/name_f]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Annie[/name_f]
