šŸ¦¢ if you had a daughter named caroline

as the title says!

what are your thoughts on her name and what do you envision when you hear it?

my middle name for her would be caroline joy

I have such mixed feelings about this name. When I read it, I think of the US: mid-century politics & glamour as well as bucolic scenes (Kentucky bluegrass etc, pumpkin pie etc). It has a natural authority about it - it helps with getting your voice heard, having this name. But I donā€™t love saying or using it in real life (I know three Carolines very well, one is a cousin!) and Iā€™m not super keen on [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] or [name_u]Caro[/name_u] (their nicknames) nor the ā€œCarolā€ sound. I prefer [name_f]Coraline[/name_f], [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (all subjective of course) and might opt for [name_f]Joy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] so itā€™s said in full as a middle and takes second spot. :tangerine:

Iā€™m absolutely adoring this name at the moment (I recently met a lovely woman with an adorable tiny [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], so that probably helps). It has such sweet underused old fashioned charm to me. I think my [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] would be [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] or [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] :cherry_blossom:

I really love [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]!

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is so elegant, refined, timeless, strong and refreshing. For me [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] has this southern [name_f]Belle[/name_f] relaxed feel. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] lives in a small town in Kentucky, is a lover of horses, highly educated, wears pretty white vintage summer dresses and oversized wide brimmed sun hats. I like the country flair of [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and I love the nickname [name_f]Carrie[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] is beautiful.

The name that is really springing to my mind to pair with [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Completely predictable but I love the idea of [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f].

Oh, [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. I love this name.

Iā€™ve known three Carolines well. The first was a girl I did not like in elementary school. [name_u]Eh[/name_u]. That association isnā€™t much compared to the newer two. The second and third have been immensely positive influences on my life. One, a senior in high school when I was a freshman who made me so happy and who I loved so incredibly (still doā€”Iā€™ll never forget him). The other, a mother I babysit for who is a friend of two of my dearest friends! They are so kind, so warm, so intelligentā€”and they both have gorgeous eyes. So thatā€™s [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] to me: good-hearted and warm, caring, watchers out for the little guys, lovers of friends and friends-made-family.

All this to sayā€¦ I love the name.

If I had a little [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], I would like to name her [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Louella[/name_f] or [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_u]Merit[/name_u]. Iā€™d like to call her [name_u]Coco[/name_u] for short. :blossom::bubbles::dizzy:

The Honor!!!

This is more a note to myself so that I can remember the reasons I like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], and why she is such a good honor for me.

  1. Silent ā€˜eā€™ ending!
  2. Same meaning as [name_u]Charles[/name_u], another important name to me.
  3. ā€˜-ineā€™ ending like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]!
  4. E, R, C, and every letter of [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (important letters and name to me)!
  5. Feminization name, like my favorite author.

I love weird, indirect, and absurdly personal honor names, so Iā€™m having a ton of fun with [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]! :star_struck:

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is one of those names that gives me several different vibes at the same time:

  • classic, elegant, strong
  • literary, 19th century vibes
  • dated in the UK
  • southern US vibes

I do like it for all the nickname potential though!

Your [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] is sweet - bright and zippy!

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u].

I absolutely love Caroline!!! Itā€™s been 2nd on my list for ages, and was there even before my top pick [name_u]Hazel[/name_u]. Itā€™s so pretty, yet sophisticated and ages well

I envision someone who is stylish and confident, soft and kind. If I were to describe with emojis, Iā€™d choose: :sparkles::crown::ballet_shoes::swan::herb:

[name_f]My[/name_f] baby Carolineā€™s middle name would be probably be [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], or some other family name. Her nickname would be [name_u]Coco[/name_u], matching the warm, cozy, chocolatey vibe of her big sisterā€™s nn Hazelnut

I feel like as a name, it is very American. And classic American too. Reminds me of old fashioned Hollywood films or of bucolic American [name_u]Southern[/name_u] imagery.

Who I would imagine to be a [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]

What she would be likeā€¦

Blonde hair, blue eyes and a sweet soul. Loves horses and is forever playing in the garden with her sisters.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] combos would be [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Mazie[/name_f] or [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] :tulip::sunny::sparkles:
