Haha I was going to say [name]Rafferty[/name] without a shadow of a doubt, but out of the three you’re both 100% sure of my favourite is [name]Otto[/name]. [name]Lennox[/name] is fun and I don’t have a problem with the slightly similar sounds, but it has a very different feel from [name]Emrys[/name] to me (not that that’s necessarily a bad thing). [name]Harlan[/name] has a very Southern feel to me, and I’m a bit biased against it because of a not very nice character in a book I read recently, but I do like it quite a lot. Again, feels different to [name]Emrys[/name] but I wouldn’t worry about that. It’s a real shame about [name]Rafferty[/name], though- I thought that was absolutely perfect with [name]Emrys[/name] and I love that one would honour your Welsh heritage and the other the Irish. I would shorten it to [name]Rafe[/name], btw.

Oh, and I just have to say I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Emrys[/name] more than words can say, and [name]Emrys[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]North[/name] makes me giddy every time I read it

Omg me too! Hehe. I love it so much! My partner originally suggested [name]Emrys[/name] since we needed a Welsh name for our first in order to be able to honour both our (very important!) grandfathers with the middle names, neither of which are Welsh. I was in love with it and then out of the blue he decided he didn’t like it for the completely irrational reason that it sounded like an old man name, and not just an old man but a dirty, bearded man from the deep south haha - what an imagination!

I was upset but I’ve never pushed a name on him that he was unsure of so I tried to find an alternative. For a while it was going to be Teifryn (TAVE-rin) or Braith, but I really wasn’t in love with either, Braith sounds terrible with [name]William[/name] [name]North[/name] and Teifryn isn’t the best with the surname [name]Morgan[/name]. I was still pining after [name]Emrys[/name] so I decided to fight for it! Showing him a photo of a cute little baby [name]Emrys[/name] I found helped a lot! Then eventually he agreed to using it, and although I was still half expecting him to change his mind again, last week he said it’s really growing on him, and now he thinks it’s “cool” hehe. I’m so happy!

Funny you say [name]Harlan[/name] sounds Southern to you since [name]Ryan[/name] absolutely adores it, and when he was arguing that [name]Emrys[/name] was an old man’s name I told him that [name]Harlan[/name] was much more of an old man’s name, but that it doesn’t have to be a bad thing.

[name]Ryan[/name] would use [name]Rafferty[/name], but he would just much rather use [name]Harlan[/name], [name]Lennox[/name] or [name]Otto[/name]. I’m sure if we had 5 boys (scary thought!) he’d be happy to use [name]Rafferty[/name] then lol. I think since I got my way regarding [name]Emrys[/name], I need to give him one of his faves for a second boy, and I love all 4 anyway so it’s no hardship!

We do love the idea of having 1 boys name for each of the Celtic countries ([name]Wales[/name], [name]Scotland[/name], [name]Ireland[/name]) and for a long time we did plan on doing [name]Emrys[/name], [name]Lennox[/name], [name]Rafferty[/name], in that order. But we really do love [name]Otto[/name] and [name]Harlan[/name] too much to let go of!

Absolutely no problem I completey understand about loving the others too much to let go of, and not wanting to push too hard after you’ve already won with [name]Emrys[/name]- they are all brilliant names. Haha, [name]Ryan[/name]'s image of an [name]Emrys[/name] made me laugh.
