If you had to choose a name for a daughter that begins with “Au-”, what would you choose? (I enjoyed the prior “Eu-” post, and though I’d start a similar thread).
I would choose [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], personally (Susannah is a family name, and similar to my mother’s first name).
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] are further down my list. Interested to hear others’ choice(s).
I have [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Madelief[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] on my shortlist (or just [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] - golden star ), but I’ve also been toying with [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Corazon[/name_f] (heart of gold).
I’d go with [name_f]Aura[/name_f] or [name_u]Austen[/name_u] - maybe [name_f]Aura[/name_f] [name_f]Helmi[/name_f] / [name_u]Austen[/name_u] [name_f]Meri[/name_f].
Seeing so many [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] combinations seems a bit imbalanced—perhaps reactionary. I could see it on the right person, but I feel like it would be difficult to pull off. Maybe it’s just the “gus” syllable that seems cumbersome to me.
[name_f]My[/name_f] great-great-grandmother was named [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Augusta[/name_f].
As much as I love [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], and [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], I like the simplicity of [name_f]Aura[/name_f], it’s more unusual, and one of my favourite sounds. I’ll go [name_f]Aura[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Clio[/name_f].
