First off, I am new to this board and having a time finding a boy name I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f]. I like unusual names and seem to be drawn to surnames (we have a daughter named [name_u]Campbell[/name_u]. We love it–even though it doesn’t get a lot of love from baby name boards.) So, I’m wondering if you could critique these boy names for me…after a bit of lurking I feel like this board is more accepting of unusual. Middle name is family–[name_m]Allen[/name_m].

I love [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] and [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]! [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] has never seemed “trendy” to me, as much as other Berries insist it is. I think it’s handsome and adventurous. [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] reminds me of Pride and Prejudice.
What do you think of [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] or [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]?
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] is definitely cool, but our last name happens to be like the capital of [name_f]Virginia[/name_f]…so word names are kinda out. [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] is pretty common in our area, too. But thank you for the suggestions!
My personal favorite to least favorite are [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], Truett, [name_m]Harris[/name_m], and Stratton. [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] being my favorite by quite a bit. I also think [name_u]Campbell[/name_u] and [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] sound great together.
I actually don’t mind unisex names or boys names on girls. [name_u]Sinclair[/name_u] is my favorite surname for a girl.
[name_u]Hudson[/name_u] – I like it, but [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] doesn’t have the best flow. Plus, [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] is getting more popular.
[name_m]Harris[/name_m] – I like it and it still manages to sound masculine next to [name_u]Campbell[/name_u].
Truett – My favorite of your names. Masculine and fits well with [name_m]Allen[/name_m].
Stratton – I don’t love it. I only see surname here. There is nothing “friendly” about it like the other surname choices.
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]- I love this, but I don’t think it’s not solely in the realm of surname names anymore and so I don’t think it works as well with [name_u]Campbell[/name_u].
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] – No a fan… I think it’s asking for trouble.
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] – I like it, but I don’t think it works with [name_u]Campbell[/name_u].
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] is my favorite, but it is my dad’s middle name and the name of a boy that had a crush on my in junior high, and he was so sweet.
I also really like [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], another good association with this name.
Truett is cool.
[name_m]Harris[/name_m] is handsome and I love this as a [name_m]Harry[/name_m]-alternative.
Stratton is not my taste but not horrible or anything, no offense.
