So I met a family today at work, and I was pretty impressed! I don’t think I’ve ever met such a large family. I figured it would be a name-lover’s dream to be able to name them all. I’m guessing on age and order of birth, but if this was your family, what would you name them?
Whoa, that’s a big family! I once created a family of 22–two parents and 20 children–and all the kids were adopted each from a different country, for a series of novels I planned on writing back in high school. I didn’t figure that counted for families I’d actually met, though, lol.
My aunt and uncle have six kids, so it was close, but this family just barely beat them.
I saw a family on TV once with 27 adopted children! I think most, if not all of them, had special needs as well. I am sure that was a handful but they managed really well.
If blended families count, my uncle [name]Bill[/name]'s kids and their siblings/stepsiblings add up to ten, lol. Like… 23-2/1 in age?*It’s a lot.
Mine would be:
DD: Noemí [name]Maureen[/name] [name]Adelina[/name]
DD: [name]Aviva[/name] [name]Kay[/name] [name]Lucie[/name] ([name]Viva[/name])
DS: [name]River[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]Noble[/name] (Riv)
DS: [name]Zen[/name] [name]David[/name] Zeal
DD: [name]Wren[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Meryl[/name]
DD: [name]Saffron[/name] [name]Fleur[/name] [name]Sarah[/name] (Saffie)
DD: [name]Artemis[/name] [name]Rose[/name] [name]Ella[/name] ([name]Artie[/name])
Each child has an honoring middle, and the girls have a character from one of my favorite books. The boys have a virtue.
Btw, ash, I really like your Charlotte combo.
wow, that is a lot! I just remembered that my childhood babysitter’s husband had 20 (maybe 22?) kids in his family? I only ever met two of the 20ish children, but the youngest was probably around 21 when I met her. I do believe it was a blended family, as well, but they were Mennonite, so it doesn’t really surprise me.
And thanks about my [name]Charlotte[/name] combo! I’m not quite decided on it. I’m a bit torn between [name]Noelle[/name] and [name]Rebecca[/name] for the second MN, so I keep trying out both for threads like this, haha.
I say this would be my dream, but I would be chasing my tail in circles over naming all of them!! I’ve seen a couple of names I quite love and are on my list!
DD (17): [name]Bianca[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] (I may be cheating by using my daughter’s name!! lol)
I know an [name]Ursula[/name] in real life so I find it completely usable! She goes by [name]Ursie[/name] for short but she wears it really well and really loves her name. I think you could definitely use it, especially as an MN.
lol, I met an [name]Ursula[/name] once, too! She came to Taco [name]Bell[/name] and ordered food, and when I asked her name for the receipt, or saw her name on her credit card or something, I totally blurted out, “I am completely in love with your name!” bahaha. She was [name]German[/name], and I think she was a bit creaped out, lol. But she was really nice about it and told me what it was like being an [name]Ursula[/name]. I don’t know if I could use it but it is a GP of mine! I used to like the idea of [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Ursula[/name] but the flow isn’t that great, imo. Maybe as a MN somewhere or something.
A girl in my grade [name]Sarah[/name]'s parents just had their 14th. The eldest is a Senior in High school, and I remember thinking, Senior in High School? Wouldn’t it be Senior in College? They have a lot of money, so everyone’s pretty comfortable, which 2 kids per room as [name]Sarah[/name] shared, but then again, I could never handle that! Here’s my choices:
[name]Clara[/name], [name]Lola[/name], [name]Harry[/name], [name]Tom[/name], [name]Rosie[/name], & [name]Annie[/name]. The double mns for [name]Harry[/name] & [name]Rosie[/name] have signifigance, I promise
