This thread includes all the countries where Arabic names are used like Turkey, Iran and so on. So if you’d happen to marry an Arabic person and you’d want to honour their heritage through the names you choose for your kids, how would you name them? You can have as many kids with as many mn and fn as you like but they have to be of Arabic origin. Here are mine:
I’m not sure about boys, but I always thought that if I had a Middle Eastern partner, I would love to have two girls named [name_f]Rania[/name_f] and [name_f]Soraya[/name_f]. I also really love the name Inara. Perhaps something like:
DD1: [name_f]Rania[/name_f] [name_f]Lilith[/name_f]
DD2: [name_f]Soraya[/name_f] Inara or Inara [name_f]Soraya[/name_f]
If my partner was of [name_u]North[/name_u] African ancestry, I might want to honor Egyptian mythology. I would probably like names that incorporate Sekhmet, Hathor, Bastet, or even the ‘female king’ Hatshepsut (that’s a hard name to work with though!). I studied Egyptian archeology and art history in college, so it would be fun to choose.
Lately I’m also really liking the name Yemaya (the mother of the orishas in the Yoruba religion), so that would be a lovely option if my partner was from [name_u]West[/name_u] [name_f]Africa[/name_f]/Nigeria.
I think I got a little off track from the Arabic focus of this thread but it was fun to think about regardless :).
