Iggy?

I’ve only heard this name on a couple of baby boys and a boy who is 11 and it’s really growing on me!

[name_m]Iggy[/name_m] [name_u]Van[/name_u] or [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] perhaps?

What do you berries think?

I would definitely pick a more formal name and use [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] as a nickname.

Sadly, all I can think of is [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] or [name_m]Ignacio[/name_m]…

I would suggest a more formal name, as well.

Besides [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] and [name_m]Ignacio[/name_m], there’s…
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u]
[name_m]Brigham[/name_m]
[name_m]Mulligan[/name_m]
[name_m]Inigo[/name_m]
[name_m]Rigby[/name_m]
[name_m]Miguel[/name_m]
[name_m]Diggory[/name_m]
[name_m]Ignasi[/name_m]
[name_m]Navigator[/name_m]
[name_m]Digby[/name_m]
[name_m]Sigfried[/name_m]
[name_m]Finnigan[/name_m]
[name_m]Viggo[/name_m]
[name_m]Amerigo[/name_m]
[name_m]Ludwig[/name_m]
[name_m]Riggan[/name_m]
[name_m]Quigley[/name_m]
[name_m]Sigmund[/name_m]

I love [name_m]Iggy[/name_m]! I think its fine as a standalone name, but if you were to use it as a nickname I’d probably go traditional and make it short of [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m].

I think [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] is too casual of a name especially if your son chooses a more serious type of profession. I like many of the suggestions of pp’s for a more formal name and you could use [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] as a nickname.

Yes! [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] nn [name_m]Iggy[/name_m]! Or [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] if that’s more your style. My personal choice might be [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], love the suggestion.

I think [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] could be a stand alone name, or I like [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] or maybe something like [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] nn. [name_m]Iggy[/name_m]?

I don’t think [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] would work particularly well as a standalone, but you have some great suggestions for names with [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] as a nickname (which is very cute). I particularly like [name_m]Brigham[/name_m], [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], and [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]. But, if you did choose to go with [name_m]Iggy[/name_m], [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] is my favourite of the two combos you mentioned.

I see no one has suggested [name_m]Igor[/name_m], so I will. My classmate is named [name_m]Igor[/name_m], and his nn is Igi (pronounced same way as [name_m]Iggy[/name_m]). Like other people here, I think [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] should be a nn for someting longer and more formal.

[name_m]Iggy[/name_m] [name_u]Van[/name_u] is good, but I prefer [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m].

FYI… there is a female hip/hop rap artist named [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] Azaela…that’s all I think about when I hear [name_m]Iggy[/name_m].

Thanks for the feedback! I actually did consider [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] for a girl after [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] Azaela. It seems like [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] does need a more formal name. I’ve added some names to my list so thanks so much.
