I met a 66-year-old woman whose son has a most interesting name - Ilarian. He was named after his father, who came from Georgian [name_f]Russia[/name_f]. Her grandson is named [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] Ilarian. I think I now love the name Ilarian Thoughts? She pronounces it ih-LEHR-ee-ihn.
I actually really like it! (Though I want to pronounce it Ih-lehr-ee-an) I probably would only ever consider it as a middle name, but I think it’s very handsome (there’s a ‘fictional prince’ air to it, if you know what I mean? Similar to [name_m]Caspian[/name_m])
It is handsome. I do believe that it will be pronunced Ih-lehr-ee-an by Americans if you’re in [name_u]America[/name_u].
It’s a pretty cool name, quite handsome. I have [name_f]Ilaria[/name_f] on my list, and I really like the ‘happy’ meaning. I would’ve assumed Ilarian was Il-ARE-ee-uhn, but I’ve never heard it in real life, so it’s useful knowing how it’s actually pronounced :p.
