What are your opinions on the name [name]Ilse[/name]? (pronounced il-suh) I really love [name]Ilse[/name] [name]Kate[/name]!
I think its pretty.
It’s not one of my favorite names, to be honest, but it has a nice sound. I think in an English-speaking country it’d be better for pronunciation to spell it [name]Ilsa[/name], although I guess that one also runs the risk of being confused with [name]Isla[/name]!
I love [name]Ilse[/name] and almost used it myself!
It’s nice, but I prefer [name]Elsa[/name].
It looks like “ill-see” or “ills”
You’d fair better with [name]Ilsa[/name] or [name]Elsa[/name]
I love [name]Ilse[/name]–it’s the name of two of my favorite fictional characters, who incidentally both happen to be independent-minded bohemians in pieces set at the turn of the twentieth century–hot-tempered elocutionist [name]Ilse[/name] Burnley in L.M [name]Montgomery[/name]'s [name]Emily[/name] of New [name]Moon[/name] series, and free-spirited, life-embracing [name]Ilse[/name] [name]Neumann[/name] in the [name]Frank[/name] Wedekind play [name]Spring[/name] Awakening (and its recent adaptation into a Broadway musical). So for me, the name has connotations of independence, ambition, and passion. The [name]Ilsa[/name] spelling is also nice. For me, the name has loads more character than the bland [name]Isla[/name].
I like it, it has an interesting vibe.
I absolutely love it, but I am planning on using [name]Elsa[/name] and it’s really close. Still, I think [name]Ilse[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is a gorgeous combo!!! I wholeheartedly approve of this name!! (not that you needed my approval, mostly I just wanted to gush over it).
I disagree with the [name]Isla[/name] comments, pronounced totally different. Most people will be introduced to the name by hearing it, not reading it so they’ll know the difference. And it will be a quick correct if the pediatrician or school gets it wrong…like once. I really hope you use it!!
I [name]LOVE[/name] this name! My high school English teacher’s daughter was named [name]Ilse[/name]–she is probably about 19 years old now. Her sister is [name]Ingrid[/name]. The [name]Ilse[/name] I know is a phenomenal ballerina, so I associate this name with much grace and fluidity. As others have mentioned, it will be difficult upon first glance for anyone reading the name, but they will get used to it.
I think its gorgeous. It seems a little more grown up to me than [name]Elsa[/name] (although I love [name]Elsa[/name] too).
[name]Ilse[/name] is very pretty. I prefer the -e at the end, actually. I like the sound and the look of it. [name]Ilse[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is a lovely combination!
