[name_u]Elias[/name_u] reminds me of the little boy who’s been on [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] several times. He’s quite talented Also [name_u]Jude[/name_u] makes me think of [name_u]Jude[/name_u] from The Fosters, and overall it’s a simple but original name.
I far prefer [name_u]Elias[/name_u]!
I like both, but I prefer [name_u]Elias[/name_u]. I think it’s a bit more interesting and easier to say. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] strikes me as more casual, while [name_u]Elias[/name_u] seems a little more professional. There are advantages to both, but I think [name_u]Elias[/name_u] is more versatile.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] both [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u]! I think they’re both versatile names and can suit a range of personalities and situations. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is obviously a very musical name, but it also has Biblical connotations if you’re into that. The great thing about this name is that whilst it’s actually quite traditional, the name sounds very modern and laid back. [name_u]Elias[/name_u] sounds a little more serious to me.
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] sounds like a little bratty kid to me (I don’t know why, I’ve never met an [name_u]Elias[/name_u] before), so I prefer [name_u]Jude[/name_u].
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] make imagine two really similar boys. However, it’s most important to know what you imagine [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] being like…
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] as the same feeling as [name_m]Eli[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]. All great and very familiar names.
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] is less common but also short and sweet.
I’ve never personally met anyone with either of those names … for [name_u]Elias[/name_u], I see a book-lover, tries hard in school. With [name_u]Jude[/name_u] (and I am biased on this one because of 6teen, I love that show), I see a skaterboy, very cool and popular guy. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] has been a favorite name of mine for awhile <3
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] is lovely, I think it’s a great alternative to the overdone [name_m]Silas[/name_m] (I know a dozen!) and has the bonus of the cute nickname [name_m]Eli[/name_m]. I’m a little biased towards [name_u]Jude[/name_u] though as it’s my son’s name. It struck us as masculine, traditional (biblical) with a modern feel. We get compliments on our his name all the time. He’s such a little ‘dude’ people say. ‘[name_u]Jude[/name_u] the Dude’. The little guy is barely 2 but crazy into skateboards and learning to surf with his dad, he’s an outdoorsy kid, strong and fun loving. It’s that kind of name for me - a strong, yet casual, easygoing name.
I love [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. [name_u]Elias[/name_u] is nice too.
For me both of these names fall into the same category of fresh and simple names, and a bit adventurous kiddos. Maybe one distinction is that with [name_u]Jude[/name_u], I can tell how it’s supposed to be pronounced, whereas when I see [name_u]Elias[/name_u], I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be ee-LYE-ahs or [name_f]EL[/name_f]-ee-ahs (there’s a song by Dispatch where it’s pronounced the latter that has forever confused me).
Both are cute. My friend has a son called [name_u]Elias[/name_u], so I think of him. I prefer that to [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. I do associate [name_u]Jude[/name_u] with the Beatles song, but that is a positive association. I think of [name_f]Judith[/name_f] and [name_f]Judy[/name_f], because I think [name_u]Jude[/name_u] would make a lovely, fresh version of those names. I consider it unisex, really - not that that is a bad thing.
