Impressions of Tucker

As I was going through the new Top 1000, I came across [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] - a name that I of course knew, but never thought much about or considered before. Name crush is now putting it mildly… What are your impressions? My only concern is that maybe it wouldn’t age very well. Is it perpetually ten years old, or…?

[name_m]Tucker[/name_m] is SO cute for a little boy, but I don’t imagine it ages very well…very frat bro, if anything. I may just be thinking of [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] [name_u]Max[/name_u] though.

[name_m]Tucker[/name_m] is pretty cute, but I unfortunately just think of the movie [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] Must Die lol. I think it’s quite cute, but I expect a player-frat-boy, too. I also picture a cute little good ole southern boy, but I can’t really see a [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] past the age of about 16. Still a nice name, but not really my style.

I really like it and actually think that it would age well, I can imagine [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] as an adorable little boy but a teenager and grown man.

Not keen, always think of it as a surname which is harsh and meaning associated with food, tuck shop etc. sorry.

It has a bit of a country, “have to have a Southern accent” feel about it to me.
Similar to Dugger or [name_m]Stetson[/name_m].

[name_m]Tucker[/name_m] is extremely Southern. If I met a [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] who didn’t drive a pickup truck, go fishing on the weekends, and have a slow Southern drawl I would feel like I was in an alternate dimension.

OK, great insight. I get the country thing and I get the youthful image. Would you be refreshed or weirded out by a [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m] boy with this name?

Not keen on it, just because I like softer names, and [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] rhymes with the f word and sounds like trucker.

I love [name_m]Tucker[/name_m]! My only hesitation is that is rhymes with a bad word. But, that wouldn’t stop me from using it.

I like it. I think it works for a boy or a grown man just fine. If he doesn’t like it when he is older her could always go by [name_m]Tuck[/name_m] or his middle name.

It would rearrange my molecules a little, but I think [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] would work just fine on a [name_m]New[/name_m] Yorker. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for all your input! I’m by no means set in stone about it, but it’s on my list now. We’ll see if DH likes it.

It does. Haha. But there are worse names for sure, especially these days. I do feel like this is one of those names that would only work on an American child, regardless.

I had the same problem but I’ve seen it as a nickname for [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]? I see [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is also on your list so you could always keep [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] as a nickname. I think it’s adorable. I also really like the name [name_m]Tuck[/name_m]. I think it would work just as well on an adult or elderly man as [name_m]Huck[/name_m].
