In a world of Emma's and Emily's

[name]Do[/name] you think [name]Emilia[/name] is boring? With most other [name]Em[/name]- names being extemely popular and [name]Amelia[/name] also finding herself in the limelight quite a bit, would [name]Emilia[/name] just get lumped in to that same catagory? Also, what are your general thoughts on [name]Emilia[/name]? [name]Millie[/name] would probably be my preferred nickname for her. [name]TIA[/name]

I don’t particularly like [name]Emilia[/name]. It just seems a bit forced and too much like [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Emily[/name]. I do, however, adore [name]Millie[/name]. You could always name her [name]Millie[/name].

Personally, yes with all these popular [name]Em[/name]- names, I find it boring. Other than that, my general opinion is that it’s a fine name, but I vastly prefer [name]Amelia[/name]. I pronounce them differently and I like the soft [name]AH[/name] sound at the beginning of [name]Amelia[/name] to the nasally [name]EM[/name] at the beginning of [name]Emilia[/name].

If you want to avoid the possibility of yet another [name]Emmie[/name], you could take an alternative route to [name]Millie[/name], like [name]Camilla[/name] or [name]Milena[/name].

Sadly yes, I do find it a bit boring, it’s too much like all the other [name]Em[/name] names out there.

Personally, I find no difference between [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Emilia[/name]. Yes, I think [name]Emilia[/name] is very similar to [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Emily[/name], but I do think it’s a bit fresher and prettier. I’m not personally aware of the history behind [name]Emilia[/name], but it looks and sounds very similar to the Itallian [name]Emilio[/name], which makes it seem too “Itallian” for me to use (as a non-Itallian.) [name]Just[/name] my 2 cents.

I don’t find [name]Emilia[/name] boring, I just think it would get misspelled as [name]Amelia[/name] all of the time, which would be a bit of a headache.

I am actually debating between [name]Emilia[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name]. I really like the look of [name]Emilia[/name], and personally, I pronounce them almost the same. Eh or Uh at the beginning. Where I live people would hear eh-mee-lee-uh and say “oh, [name]Amelia[/name]?” and probably mis-spell [name]Emilia[/name]. So, if I used [name]Emilia[/name] it would be in the middle spot. I am considering [name]Amelia[/name] for a first though. I also think where I live, people would look at it and pronounce it kind of like [name]Emily[/name]-uh with the emphasis on the wrong syllables. It might get to be a headache to use for a first. But it could be different where you live.

I love [name]Emilia[/name]! I can’t stand [name]Amelia[/name], but I love [name]Emilia[/name]. Go figure. [name]Even[/name] though it kind of melts in with [name]Emma[/name], [name]Emily[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Emma[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Amelie[/name], etc., I think it still manages to stand out against them all. I love the nn [name]Millie[/name], too. I think it’d probably be annoying to have people keep spelling it [name]Amelia[/name], but it’s a risk I would take, since I love [name]Emilia[/name] so much.
