If this baby is a boy, DH is absolutely set on [name]Michael[/name], as he would be the 5th generation [name]Michael[/name] in the family. While the everlasting extreme popularity of the name kills me a little inside, I am going along with it because I know it means a lot to DH, but we have agreed to give him his very own middle name. So this is where I need some berry assistance, because I’m so stuck on boy names. I really want it to be something special, something unique and handsome. So far, our top combo is [name]Michael[/name] [name]Desmond[/name], but I’m not sure it feels quite right. Help please?
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Asher[/name]
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Landon[/name]

[name]Michael[/name] [name]Judah[/name]
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Levi[/name]
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Carson[/name]
In your signature, I like [name]Michael[/name] [name]Ezra[/name] a lot. or even [name]Michael[/name] [name]Atticus[/name] is kind of cool
These are some combos that I like… but I am not sure if your taste would be similar to mine at all. My husband and I considered the name [name]Michael[/name] for awhile. Is he going to go by his middle name?
I like [name]Michael[/name] [name]Ezra[/name] too, and would use [name]Michael[/name] [name]Atticus[/name] in a heartbeat if [name]Atticus[/name] wasn’t the name of our good friends’ little boy. Would E and A names be a problem since that would make his initials MEN/[name]MAN[/name] or is that cool since he will in fact be a man? lol. Pretty sure DH wants him to go by [name]Michael[/name]. I wish I could convince him to use [name]Michael[/name] as the middle name. I’m actually really hoping for a girl so I don’t have to deal with this at all, since we are planning on this being our last child. That’s pretty bad, right?

Honestly, I love [name]Michael[/name] [name]Desmond[/name]! It’s handsome to me. And you can always call him [name]Micah[/name] if [name]Michael[/name] is too popular for you.
judyariel, I love so many names on this list! Actually, [name]Finnegan[/name] came up the other day as a name we both liked. Aside from the fact that we both have Irish ancestry, it just occurred to me that it kind of has special meaning to us as one of our favorite places we ate at on our Key [name]West[/name] honeymoon was called [name]Finnegan[/name]'s Wake! Not to mention it means “fair”, just like big sister [name]Fiona[/name]'s name, and ends in -egan, like my name ([name]Megan[/name]). Hmm, I think we may have a winner! Thank you so much for bringing this name back to my attention!
I [name]Love[/name] [name]Michael[/name] [name]Desmond[/name] too.
I really like [name]Michael[/name] [name]Finnegan[/name], and I second pp suggestions of [name]Sullivan[/name], [name]Donovan[/name] and [name]Sebastian[/name]! Other ideas:

[name]Michael[/name] [name]Royce[/name]
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Nolan[/name]
I just have to warn you that here is a kid’s/nursery rhyme song named “[name]Michael[/name] [name]Finnegan[/name]” so all I hear is “poor old [name]Michael[/name] [name]Finnegan[/name] begin again”! So I would go with [name]Michael[/name] [name]Desmond[/name]…
Oh no! Thank you for bringing that to my attention, roe121. Definitely something to think about. [name]May[/name] I ask if you are in the US? [name]Just[/name] wondering if it is a popular rhyme here that people would pick up on, because I’d never heard it before.

I was going to try to make a list of suggestions until I saw [name]Finnegan[/name] and your reasons for liking it. I love how they sound together. I think you do have a winner.
OK, I will make one suggestion: [name]Michael[/name] [name]Roman[/name]. Strong name that stands up to the popularity of [name]Michael[/name], and I like how they sound together.
No problem! Yep I’m in the US. It wasn’t the most popular nursery song but I remember learning it in elementary school. It goes something like "There was an old man named [name]Michael[/name] [name]Finnegan[/name] he had whiskers on his chinnegan…Shaved them off and then grew in again, poor old Michael Finnegan begin again…and then it repeats over and over again…
Thank you for everyone’s suggestions and input. DH and I are really loving [name]Michael[/name] [name]Finnegan[/name] and it just feels so perfect for us, despite the nursery rhyme. He actually even thinks it’s pretty cool that there’s a rhyme by that name, and I’m starting to think it wouldn’t be too bad. It’s the only [name]Michael[/name] combo we’ve come up with that has made me feel not depressed about having to give our son such a common first name. Evidently it’s not that obscure of a rhyme, since I see several of you have heard it, but what do you all think? Should we use it anyway or would it be horrible to name our boy [name]Michael[/name] [name]Finnegan[/name]?
Well, I would have to disagree about [name]Michael[/name] [name]Finnegan[/name] not being that well known.
Certainly in Europe its pretty well known. And there are definitely some dodgy versions of it, coined by teenage boys…
[name]Michael[/name] [name]Finnegan[/name] is basically a hapless bloke, who is constantly falling off something or having his clothes burnt off or being half-drowned etc etc. Not someone I’d want as a namesake; not so much!
I adore almost all the names in your signature though, so really whatever you go with I’m sure will be fantastic.
