In need of 'earthy' boys names?

In desperate need to find the perfect boys name!

The kids have very earthy/nature or at least hippie names,
[name]Ruby[/name], [name]Olive[/name] and [name]Hazel[/name] (and if another girl [name]Lilah[/name] or [name]Violet[/name])

But we’re stuck for boys names. We can’t agree on any!
I like [name]Jonah[/name] & [name]Ash[/name] (DH likes neither)

And I don’t really like the idea of anything too obvious… [name]River[/name], [name]Lake[/name], [name]Stone[/name] or [name]Storm[/name]
Please help!

Basil (BAH-zuhl) is my favorite, but might clash with Hazel. Also like Brooks, Peter (rock), Reed, Canyon, Rio, Clay, Orson (bear), Berk(e)ley (birch), Sage, Sawyer (woodsman), Robin, Heath (related to Heather), and Ronan (seal)!

I love [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Olive[/name] and [name]Hazel[/name]! And I prefer [name]Violet[/name] with your other names over [name]Lilah[/name]. I don’t think [name]Jonah[/name] and [name]Ash[/name] fit with the others. What about:

[name]Finch[/name]
[name]Painter[/name]
[name]Almond[/name] - kind of out there but it works well with your other kids names
[name]Basil[/name]
[name]Cypress[/name]
[name]Flint[/name]
[name]Heath[/name]
[name]Indigo[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Leif[/name]
[name]Peregrine[/name]
[name]Thorn[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Beech[/name]
[name]Flor[/name]
[name]Leo[/name]
[name]Marin[/name]
[name]Nemo[/name]
[name]Oakley[/name]
[name]Pan[/name]
[name]Sonnet[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] this helps

Since all three of your daughter’s names are also colors (2 greenish type shades, 1 red) and the girl name you have picked out is also a color as well as an earthy name, following this pattern may be a neat way to go!

Suggestions for name meanings in the red and earthy family (to match [name]Ruby[/name])-

[name]Jasper[/name] (reddish-brown stone)
[name]Garnett[/name] (red, like a pomegranate)
[name]Phoenix[/name] (dark red)
[name]Reid[/name]/[name]Reed[/name] (red-haired)
[name]Rowan[/name] (little redhead/tree with red berries)
[name]Sorrell[/name] (red-brown)
[name]Keegan[/name] (small flame)
[name]Blaise[/name] (homonym blaze means fire)

Good [name]Luck[/name] with your 4th precious little one!

Oooh thanks guys

and I agree, Violet seems more sophisticated and matches nicely with the earthy/colour theme!

I’m loving -
[name]Oakley[/name]
[name]Sonnet[/name]
[name]Reid[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Keegan[/name]
& [name]Blaise[/name]

I’ll narrow it down some more, and ask DH!

Some of these I haven’t ever heard, they’re lovely

[name]Banyan[/name]
[name]Cole[/name]
[name]Oak[/name]
Otter
[name]Burke[/name]
[name]Huck[/name] (from [name]Huckleberry[/name])
Alder

[name]Hope[/name] this helps! Keep us posted

DH loves [name]Cole[/name]!
His loved it from day one, it’s warming on me

I think [name]Sonnet[/name] is lovely, but it strikes me as feminine because of the -et ending.

Other ideas:
[name]Vale[/name] ([name]Valley[/name])
[name]Heath[/name]
[name]Cliff[/name]
Croft
[name]Mead[/name]
[name]Piers[/name]
[name]Grove[/name]
[name]Walden[/name]
[name]Cleary[/name]
Wakefield
[name]Dover[/name]

[name]Cole[/name] is the way to go! However… I adore the suggestion of [name]Finch[/name].

Since [name]Olive[/name], [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Hazel[/name] are al word names I would really argue for your son having a word name also. But [name]Cole[/name] sounds good too ( imo it sounds good with anything!)

I like :
[name]Clay[/name]
[name]Cole[/name]
[name]Bodhi[/name]

[name]Love[/name] your girls’ names
[name]Love[/name] the suggestions [name]Oakley[/name], [name]Reid[/name], [name]Ronan[/name], [name]Cole[/name] & [name]Jasper[/name].
I might suggest…
[name]Everett[/name]
[name]Forest[/name] (I know - obvious but it’s a nice name nonetheless!)
[name]Arbor[/name] (saw this on someone’s name list once… I think it’s rather nice)
[name]Emerson[/name] (much poetry devoted to nature)

I love the suggestion of [name]Cole[/name]. If you don’t mind the association with the store, you might try spelling it [name]Kohl[/name]. That is in keeping with the color theme and if the name is one your husband loves it might be worth a try. I also love [name]Ronan[/name] and [name]Heath[/name]. These were my first choices for my first and second boys. Good luck! [name]Hope[/name] this helps.

I like [name]Cole[/name], [name]Clay[/name] or [name]Heath[/name].

[name]Sonnet[/name] feels to feminine to me. I know a horse and a dog named [name]Sonnet[/name] and both are females.

[name]Both[/name] a little bit out there, but I think they fit your theme —

Vetiver
[name]Cedar[/name]
