In search of Australian opinions

Hello Berries,

I am aware that different names have different connotations or associations in different places and would love Australian opinions on my current thoughts if DC2 is another boy.

My partner is Australian and we’ll definitely be based back there by the time our youngest starts school so I want to make sure I pick a name which will have the vibe I’m after out there.

My current favourite boys names are [name_u]Beau[/name_u] and [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]. I also like [name_m]Etienne[/name_m] but not sure the pronunciation would sound right for a non [name_m]French[/name_m] speaking family! Other names I like but can’t use are [name_u]Remy[/name_u] and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u].

I guess the vibe I’m after is classless/middle class with a touch of hipster!?

I know [name_u]Beau[/name_u] is more popular in Australia than it is in the UK and don’t know if it really fits my vibe out there?

Suggestions welcomed… I’ll stop blabbering now!

I’m Australian, and [name_u]Beau[/name_u] isn’t super popular, I’ve never met one! I live in [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] though, so it could be different elsewhere. Compared to the names I grew up around, I would say that the vibe I get from [name_u]Beau[/name_u] is classy/well-off. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, I think [name_u]Beau[/name_u] is so handsome! I love [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] too, I think it’s the right touch of vintage and classic.

I was worried it might be a laddy/sporty/jock kind of name as I’d read about 2 or 3 AFL players with the name (I don’t think current).

We’ll be in [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] most likely as family in various places around the state! Are there any good Australian babyname websites or blogs or anything that might be worth looking at do you think?
