I love [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Scout[/name] Marinaccio, [name]Amanda[/name]! That’s perfect. You get spunky nicknames like [name]Lia[/name] or [name]Mia[/name] - or [name]Amy[/name], if you must - and [name]Rich[/name] can call her [name]Scout[/name]! Girlish and fun, but not in-your-face frilly, you know? [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Scout[/name] Marinaccio sounds like a yellow girl (http://www.teacollection.com/product/G04227R/Juliska-Geo-Romper.html), or maybe a bit of purple. Yea, go experiment with some new colors, [name]Amanda[/name]! But, seriously, I love that name. I think it’s perfect for you guys…

It’s too late to experiment with colors! A friend sent over boxes filled with an entire baby’s wardrobe from newborn to 9 months. I’d love to buy some yellows, purples and reds but we’re kind of poor right now and I’d feel so wasteful buying many new clothes for the baby when we have at least 20 sleepers (all pink), 20 pants (all pink), 20 undershirts (all pink) etc. I’d rather spend all our money on toys, books and mobiles. There’s only one outfit that she sent over that’s not pink. It’s a navy blue sleeper with footballs on it. Someone must have thought she was having a boy when they bought it. I don’t think we’ll mind using it though, as a break from all of that pink.

I’m liking [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Scout[/name] too. [name]Rich[/name] told me that he’s ok with [name]Amelia[/name], but prefers [name]Athena[/name]. [name]Amelia[/name] could grow on him though… I’m liking that [name]Amelia[/name] makes me think of [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Earhart[/name], and [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Earhart[/name] just goes well with [name]Scout[/name], because of her adventurousness.

[name]Rich[/name] says that what he likes most about [name]Aria[/name] is that it sounds exotic to him. It does not sound exotic at all to me, since I grew up going to a religious Jewish school, where half the kids were named [name]Ariel[/name], [name]Arielle[/name], [name]Ariella[/name], [name]Ari[/name], Arieh (boy’s name). The [name]Ari[/name] part means lion in hebrew, and [name]Ari[/name] names were just so common in Jewish school. I think that’s what is turning me off from the name. [name]Even[/name] though [name]Aria[/name] sounds kind of fresh to most people, it’s just another old [name]Ari[/name] name to me.

Oh, wow! Those are some generous friends you’ve got! I’m sure you’ll be gifted some other lovely outfits for [name]Baby[/name] M in the future, hopefully not all pink. Buy her some fun toys and books!

Hm. I’m just thinking about what name I’d rather have, and it’s [name]Amelia[/name]. Now, I think [name]Athena[/name]'s great, and I’m well-versed in the classics thanks to my seven years of Latin and Greek, but [name]Amelia[/name] is just so now and fun and cool, but at the same time incredibly warm and comfortable and classic. And, yes, [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Earhart[/name] was an idol of mine growing up, and it seems to fit with [name]Scout[/name] - you’re certainly right. Plus, [name]Rich[/name] loves [name]Scout[/name], so maybe you should get to have a name you really love for [name]Baby[/name] M’s first name, huh? [name]Ah[/name], just kidding, but it is a way to compromise. Anyway, love it.

I totally get you with the whole [name]Ariel[/name], [name]Ariella[/name], [name]Arielle[/name], [name]Ari[/name] Jewish phenomenon. Lots of kids here are Jewish, and lots of them have [name]Ari[/name] names, so if it isn’t so fresh to you anymore, maybe it just isn’t right. It doesn’t seem like it is.

Thanks lemon for your feedback!

Ok. The one thing I’m concerned about with [name]Amelia[/name] is that my name is [name]Amanda[/name] and they sound a little bit similar- three syllable names starting with ‘Am’ and ending in ‘a’. [name]Do[/name] you think that matters? Ahh, I don’t care anymore.

i love aria juliet i dont think it is flighty at all and i think linked with juliet it gorgeous

Well, [name]Amanda[/name], yes [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Amanda[/name] both begin with Am-, but they have completely different sounds other than that. As I was telling [name]Erica[/name] about her [name]Eva[/name] issue, there are mothers who give their daughters exactly the same name they have, like my friend, [name]Catherine[/name], and her mom, [name]Catherine[/name] “[name]Cathy[/name].” So, [name]Amelia[/name] is a different name. Would you use a nickname for her? [name]Mia[/name]? [name]Lia[/name]?

No, I think it’s fine, personally.

Urggghhh sooooo frustrated!!! I am so sick of this laptop restarting on me in the middle of my stuff!!!

Anyway, I had a super long post for you but it all got erased. :frowning:

Basically, I think [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Scout[/name] is absolutely perfect - feminine but not frilly, as well as intelligent, warm, and fun.

I don’t really like [name]Athena[/name] at all, and I think if [name]Rich[/name] gets [name]Scout[/name] for the middle you should get a fn you love (and I think that’s fair because you’re not even using [name]Alice[/name], which he totally doesn’t like, but I think you said it’s your favorite).

And I don’t think [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Amanda[/name] are too close. I’m pretty sure we’re going with [name]Eva[/name], and I was worried about the same thing! But another poster on my thread said her name is [name]Stephanie[/name] and her daughter’s name is [name]Sophie[/name], and there hasn’t ever been an issue. So I think we have nothing to worry about.

Good luck, I really, really, really hope you choose [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Scout[/name]!

hmm… I like both [name]Mia[/name] and [name]Lia[/name], but for some reason think I prefer [name]Lia[/name] to [name]Mia[/name]… I’m not too big on nicknames though, and have always cringed when someone tried to call me “[name]Mandy[/name]”. [name]Amelia[/name] doesn’t feel so long to me that she would need a nickname, and we might just call her [name]Scout[/name] for sure. Yeah, maybe we’ll call her [name]Scout[/name]. For some reason, I’m still a little bit stuck on [name]Aria[/name], though there are things that bother me about it. [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Scout[/name] much better than [name]Aria[/name] [name]Scout[/name]? Would you like your first name to be [name]Amelia[/name] or [name]Aria[/name]?

[name]Erica[/name]- it sucks when that happens!

[name]Eva[/name] and [name]Erica[/name] seem a little less similar to me than [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Amanda[/name]. It’s funny you mention a mom named [name]Stephanie[/name] with a daughter named [name]Sophie[/name], because [name]Stephanie[/name] is my sister’s name, and her daughter is [name]Sophie[/name].

As of now, she’ll be [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Scout[/name], but that might not mean anything. I have enough doubts about it that I’m not calling her [name]Amelia[/name] yet.

I was thinking of maybe using a second middle name, maybe a 2 syllable name After [name]Amelia[/name] before [name]Scout[/name]. Any suggestions?

[name]How[/name] does it feel to be certain of your baby’s name? [name]Do[/name] you ever still think- maybe that’s not her name?
