Indian(esk) name for brother of Priya

Hello,

Our little guy is expected in late [name_u]January[/name_u] and was hoping to get some new ideas. My husband is [name_f]Indian[/name_f] and I am Caucasian American (Irish/[name_m]German[/name_m]/ British). We like unique and/or exotic names that are short and easy to pronouce but are not committed to an [name_f]Indian[/name_f] name for our boy. Our daughter is [name_f]Priya[/name_f] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]. We are leaning towards [name_m]Kian[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] now but want to see if anyone has some new ideas. I like [name_m]Kian[/name_m] for its Irish/[name_f]Indian[/name_f] roots but concerned it might be too trendy?

Thanks for your help!

Ajay was my first thought.

Husband has a cousin Ajay, no go.

I like [name_m]Kian[/name_m] with [name_f]Priya[/name_f]. My first thought was [name_m]Amit[/name_m].

[name_u]Rohan[/name_u]
[name_m]Navin[/name_m]/[name_m]Naveen[/name_m]
[name_m]Bowen[/name_m]
[name_m]Kamal[/name_m]
[name_m]Cyrus[/name_m]

I love the above suggestions, especially [name_u]Rohan[/name_u]. And I too like [name_m]Kian[/name_m] with [name_f]Priya[/name_f]! It’s barely inside the top 500 in the U.S., so I wouldn’t say it’s too trendy yet.

Amar
[name_m]Bodhi[/name_m]
[name_m]Dev[/name_m]
[name_m]Kiran[/name_m] (less popular than [name_m]Kian[/name_m], and similar to Irish [name_u]Kieran[/name_u])
[name_m]Malik[/name_m]
[name_m]Omar[/name_m]
[name_m]Ravi[/name_m]
[name_u]Shay[/name_u] (also has an Irish feel)
[name_m]Tarek[/name_m] or [name_m]Tarik[/name_m]
[name_m]Zaiden[/name_m]

I think these would sound nice with sister [name_f]Priya[/name_f] and with middle [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]:
[name_m]Devraj[/name_m]
Tajinder
[name_m]Varan[/name_m]
[name_u]Rohan[/name_u] (seconding)
Kairav
Eashan
Nirav
Sarvin
Farid
[name_u]Kyran[/name_u]
Banpaul
[name_m]Vikram[/name_m]
Kanwar
Dhian
Ghamand
[name_m]Kavan[/name_m]
Eshaan

My suggestions:

[name_m]Keyan[/name_m]
[name_m]Yancey[/name_m]
[name_m]Kwan[/name_m]
[name_m]Lonan[/name_m]
Kanen
[name_u]Tate[/name_u]
[name_u]Dylan[/name_u]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_m]Navin[/name_m]
Kailand
[name_m]Keen[/name_m]
[name_u]Canyon[/name_u]
[name_u]Bayou[/name_u]
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]
[name_m]Floyd[/name_m]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] you like some of these!

[name_m]Kian[/name_m] is cute, but what I could find on it showed that it is of Irish and Persian (not Hindi) origin??

What about:

Prem
[name_f]Jaya[/name_f] ([name_u]Jay[/name_u])
[name_m]Ravi[/name_m]
[name_m]Kiran[/name_m]
[name_u]Rohan[/name_u]
[name_m]Balin[/name_m]
[name_m]Kipling[/name_m] ([name_m]Kip[/name_m])

I think [name_m]Kian[/name_m] is great with [name_f]Priya[/name_f].

I like [name_m]Kian[/name_m]. I don’t know [name_f]Indian[/name_f] names very well, but nameberry says [name_m]Amit[/name_m] has meaning in Sanskrit and Hebrew. [name_u]Devin[/name_u] with nickname [name_m]Dev[/name_m] is also an option.
