Indiana?

Is [name]Indiana[/name] useable as a FN for a girl? I have really been drawn to it lately and I can’t get it up of my head. I think [name]Indy[/name] could be a cute NN and then there is also [name]Diana[/name] if she does like [name]Indiana[/name]. Yay or nay?

I absolutely [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Indiana[/name]! [name]Indy[/name] is such a great nickname too!

Yeah I love [name]Indiana[/name]. I don’t know which celeb it was (just check google) but [name]Indiana[/name] [name]Rose[/name] was a recent baby name out there, and I loved it.

[name]Love[/name] it. I can’t use it because I’m so close to the state. But yes, I’d say go for it!

I think boy first when I hear [name]Indiana[/name], but I think that’s more because the first one I met was a boy. I’ve heard of more of both genders since. So I think [name]Indiana[/name] nn [name]Indy[/name] can definitely work!

[name]Love[/name] it! and love [name]Indy[/name] even more!

I find it too masculine, I can’t picture it on a girl… For [name]Indy[/name], I like [name]India[/name] moreso.

Like the Boilermakers of Purdue? That’s all I think of, sorry. I also think of [name]Indiana[/name] [name]Jones[/name]. [name]Even[/name] with the -ana ending, I don’t find it to be a very feminine sounding name. If you want the nickname [name]Indy[/name], what about [name]Indira[/name]?

Maybe it’s because of [name]Indiana[/name] [name]Jones[/name], but I’ve always thought that was cute on a boy.

My husband loves [name]Indiana[/name] nn [name]Indie[/name] for a girl, but we LIVE in [name]Indiana[/name]- so I think its out for us… I think it is super cute though.

I [name]LOVE[/name] it! It’s always floated between official list and GP list, but I’ve always been a sucker for [name]Indy[/name]. For me, [name]Indiana[/name] [name]Jones[/name] just makes the name sound stronger, but not necessarily more masculine simply because of the -diana ending. If only I could find the perfect middle name… XD

[name]Indiana[/name] [name]Rose[/name] [name]Evans[/name] is an Australian singer and actress; it’s also [name]Ethan[/name] Hawke’s second daughter’s name

[name]Jones[/name]. Sorry.

Have you been to [name]Indiana[/name]? Why on earth would you find it an inspiring namesake for a child? No apologies to all the fine, blameless hoosiers out there, but cornfields with a spot of urban blight ([name]Gary[/name]) is not exactly the stuff of dreams.

[name]Add[/name] in the uncomfortable racial history of the word [name]Indian[/name], and I think it’s an absolute no-go.

I think it’s really cute, especially [name]Indy[/name]! I had that on my favorites list for a while. I do prefer [name]India[/name], though.

Perfect! I love [name]Indy[/name]!

I love [name]Indiana[/name] for a little girl. [name]Indie[/name] is a cute nn, she could also go by [name]Ana[/name] as a nn.

Can I also add that I have a close friend [name]Indira[/name] (named after Ms. Gandhi) that goes by [name]Indi[/name]. Same cute nickname, wonderful human being to be named after, and a much more classic/ less trendy full name.

Edited for privacy.

[name]Indiana[/name] is such a beautiful name, with such amazing nn possiblities! It would be so cool to meet a little girl named [name]Indiana[/name]
