Thoughts on [name]Indra[/name]?
Since it is the name of a male Hindu God, I don’t see it belonging on a girl. I much prefer [name]India[/name] or [name]Indiana[/name] or [name]Indira[/name].
I love [name]Indra[/name]. I didn’t realise it was the name of a male Hindu god! We considered it for a while for our daughter (I have a long distance relative called [name]Indra[/name]) but we decided not to use it because my parents and my husband’s parents both had trouble pronouncing it. It sounded like In-dere= In there.
I still think it’s pretty though.
Yes it is a male Hindu God but there is the similar name [name]Indira[/name] (in [name]DEE[/name] rah) - female God Laxshmi of beauty and splendour. Or the name Indrani - meaning the wife of [name]Indra[/name].
I like the meaning, but prefer [name]Indre[/name] (French rivver) for a girl.
It’s a boy’s name for Hindus. Its also very traditional, classic, religious, and exceeding masculine, and to use it on a girl would be like similar to using [name]Luke[/name] or [name]Matthew[/name] in my eyes.
