Ines or Inez?

Which do you prefer, [name_f]Ines[/name_f] or [name_f]Inez[/name_f] and why?

[name_f]Inez[/name_f]. I think it looks prettier, and [name_f]Ines[/name_f] reminds me of anus for some reason.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

[name_f]Ines[/name_f] - seems more Euro-sophisticate to me.

I prefer [name_f]Ines[/name_f] because it looks cleaner and more sophisticated than [name_f]Inez[/name_f]

[name_f]Ines[/name_f]. Where I live ‘nez’ is slang for nose so that’s all I see.

I think they’re both pretty names though.

[name_f]Ines[/name_f] is much softer

I prefer [name_f]Ines[/name_f] - I think it looks subtler.

I prefer [name_f]Ines[/name_f].

[name_f]Inez[/name_f] is the American spelling of the Spanish/Portuguese Inés/Inês. The z seems to make the whole name easier for an American audience to know how to pronounce without any guidance, however, it looks Americanified and always strikes me as a compromised to combat ignorance.

[name_f]Ines[/name_f] is more international by the simple fact that it would be the correct spelling in all Spanish/Portuguese speaking countries and is a widely accepted version in many others. I also think that the s looks a bit more refined, classic and soft while the z can strike as part of the current “altered/unique” spelling trend.

I guess it depends on where you live. I live in the US in an area that is heavily populated by south american’s and have a hispanio-phile (yes I just made that up) husband. For me the natural option would/is [name_f]Ines[/name_f] (it is on my top 20 list). However, if you live in a region that is not as exposed to the spanish language and/or hispanic cultures and pronunciations [name_f]Inez[/name_f] might suit you better. Esp if you get easily annoyed about mispronunciations - I personally wouldn’t mind correcting people once or twice - but really that’s up to you.

[name_f]Ines[/name_f]. I have a friend called [name_f]Inez[/name_f] but she pronounces her name like the boys name [name_m]Innes[/name_m].

I prefer [name_f]Ines[/name_f], [name_f]Inez[/name_f] looks a little to harsh I think. It’s pretty!

I prefer [name_f]Inez[/name_f]- it reminds me of the sweet little girl in Hairspray. I think the pronunciation is clearer when spelt [name_f]Inez[/name_f]. A very pretty name regardless of spelling

[name_f]Inez[/name_f]. Feels stronger than [name_f]Ines[/name_f]; like there’s something lacking in [name_f]Ines[/name_f]… idk.

I prefer [name_f]Ines[/name_f]. [name_f]Inez[/name_f] is just old to me.

[name_f]Inez[/name_f]. I’ve always known this name to be spelt with a ‘Z’ and I don’t really like the way it looks with a ‘S’.

I love the soft s of [name_f]Ines[/name_f]. (EE-ness) If you’re going for the IN-ez pronunciation, [name_f]Inez[/name_f] looks more phonetically correct to that version.

[name_f]Ines[/name_f]…I’m from a European background and that is how they spell it. Looks softer too.
