Information/opinions on Delwyth?

I recently re-read [name_m]Son[/name_m] by [name_f]Lois[/name_f] [name_f]Lowry[/name_f], and–you guessed it–a minor character was named Delwyth. Have any of you heard of the name? WDYT?

I have never heard of this name. The sight of it is interesting. I like the -wyth. But saying it in my head I just hear ‘dullwit’.

Thanks.

Never heard of it, not a fan of the masculine names like this one, I think with the W’s and Y’s, it’s kind of a turn off. I don’t know, the other name comes to mind is like [name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f].

I imagine it’d be pronounced ‘dell-oo-ith’ if it’s as Welsh as it looks.

Well, behindthename.com says that [name_f]DELYTH[/name_f] means “pretty” - Meaning, origin and history of the name Delyth - Behind the Name

And nameberry says it means “pretty and blessed” Delyth - Baby Name Meaning, Origin, and Popularity | Nameberry

This name reminded me of a GP of mine, DELWYN - Meaning, origin and history of the name Delwyn - Behind the Name “pretty and white”

I like it! I’m a sucker for -th names and Welsh names.
