Hey all!
I’ve started crushing on the girl name Ingrid— if I’m honest I know it’ll be a hard sell for my husband but I’m going to ignore that and live in fantasy land for a little while
Our son’s name is Warren John, and I think I like Ingrid because it has an R in it? It seems silly by my absolute favorite girl name Rosalyn (also so far a no fly with my husband ) has an R as well it is just seems to match nicely with my son’s name!
The following are middle names we’d like to use for any future baby girl as they are honor names, but not definite by any means: Crystal, Ann, Judith, Ruby
Does Ingrid really match with any of these middles? I’m game for suggestions of middles and even other names similar to Ingrid! Just having fun and trying to broaden my scope a little.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is absolutely precious! [name_u]Love[/name_u] her with brother [name_m]Warren[/name_m] [name_u]John[/name_u]. (i also love names with R in them!!)
I think [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is just magic with W@rren such a gorgeous sibling set. The joint ‘r’ sound is lovely the subtle theme is lush.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] is lovely very retro! I also love [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] she’s so precious and I like how both siblings would both have a four letter middle name. [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] also works nicely. I think [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Crystal[/name_f] doesn’t work they sound too stylistically different maybe [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Cristina[/name_f] as a nod to [name_f]Crystal[/name_f]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I like [name_f]Judith[/name_f] I think she doesn’t sound the best with [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f].
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is great! I really like it, and I think it works perfectly with your son’s name.
I like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is very serious, [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is more light-hearted, so that makes a great match for me!
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is a beauty and goes really well with [name_m]Warren[/name_m]. I like that [name_m]Warren[/name_m] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] have different vowel sounds. [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] would work. Other names you might consider with an r
I swear we could have a list of names husbands just say no to right away and need the full sell: they’re basically ones that are more sassy, solid and punchy, and names that really hit their stride from the teens on (which is better than giving a name that peaks then!).
If it helps the cause, [name_u]Indy[/name_u] is a sweet nickname.
I like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] best - and it pairs so well with [name_m]Warren[/name_m] [name_u]John[/name_u]. [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] would also work well, maybe just too many R’s for me.
Other tough sell names I like: [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Ursula[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], and [name_f]Sidonie[/name_f].
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is distinctive and stylish! [name_m]Warren[/name_m] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] are a wonderfully unexpected set that just work
Ingrid has been on our list for ages! I’m pretty sure that’s my husband’s top pick for this little one. Very likely Ingrid will be part of her name, if not a first then a middle, because she’s been with us for so long.
I love Ingrid Ann with Warren John!
Some suggestions for middles:
Ingrid Annemarie
Ingrid Anneliese
Ingrid Adelaide
Ingrid Jane
Ingrid Rosalie
Ingrid Alexandra (in fairness, that’s the name of the Princess of Norway who will likely be Queen one day)
I love [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], it’s one of my ones that got away. [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is super cute but also strong and refined.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is super beautiful! I like her a lot. Probably because she reminds me of [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] Bergman and the film “Inn of the Sixth Happiness” - [name_f]Gladys[/name_f] Aylward is one of my favorite historical figures and I love that [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] reminds me of [name_f]Gladys[/name_f] but is still more appealing than [name_f]Gladys[/name_f] lol. If I wanted to honor her with one of my kiddos, I’d probably use [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] or [name_f]Claudia[/name_f] (Gladys is the Welsh form of Claudia!). From your options, I really like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] Ruby… or maybe a form of [name_f]Ann[/name_f] like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] or [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Anneke[/name_f]? I feel like just [name_f]Ann[/name_f] feels a little stilted next to [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], but something like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] Anneliese/Anneke/Anneli is really lovely.
