Are the initials DD problematic for a boy? Teasing potential? Or am I way overthinking this…
Yes I was thinking the bra size. Stupid I know but guy humor is stupid sometimes
I am probably overthinking!
I think it’s fine
I doubt it would be a problem, I wouldn’t let it stop you from using a name you like.
I don’t think it would be an issue. In my experience, kids don’t really care about initials as much as people are worried they will and this seems pretty innocuous
I don’t think it’s problematic at all! I’ve seen much worse, however I don’t think people notice/ mock people for it too much nowadays. If it’s a name you love, go for it!
I don’t think it’s a problem at all (I didn’t even think of any references until I read the comments).
I think it’s fine. Unless the name is something like [name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u], the initials aren’t really going to lead to teasing. I didn’t have any idea what you were talking about until I read the comments, so i think it’s fine
[name_f]My[/name_f] only thought was Dunkin’ Donuts when I saw the title of the thread… Don’t see it as an issue.
Don’t think it’s problematic at all
I don’t love it, but it would probably be fine, especially if he’ll have a middle or last name as well with his initials for signatures.
When you pointed out DD my first thought was Deqr Daughter… I think bra size as a potential teasing factor is slim to none. Especially since usually initials that cause teasing are ones where the middle initial is involved.
I would say it was fine
Kind of? The ‘dear daughter’ thing isn’t really well known.
I would say it’s perfectly ok!
I think double D-related teasing is pretty unlikely. Especially if the initials belong to a boy rather than a girl.
I probably wouldn’t use these initials for any gender.
Last name is D.
I wasn’t sure if the D was a middle initial or last name. Thanks for clarifying!
I thought DD was a problem because [name_f]Deedee[/name_f] or [name_f]Didi[/name_f] is a woman’s name. One of my cousins is [name_m]Dawson[/name_m] Delmont, and one relative brings up the woman’s name thing every once in awhile. But the bra size thing didn’t even occur to me.
To be completely honest, I don’t think teenage classmates can be trusted not to make fun of…most things. It would probably come up at some point. But I think you’d have time to come up with a response well in advance, of you decided to use it.
