Hello!
This is my first post - hopefully I do it right.
I am seeking feedback on initials that (unintentionally) spell a word.
A little bit of background:
My husband and I are expecting our first child. We are taking the surprise route with gender - providing I hold out!! Because of this, I am hoping we have ‘selected’ names for both a boy and a girl prior to the birth.
If the baby is a girl, my husband suggested we name her for both of our maternal grandmothers who mean the world to each of us and were/are so influential. I absolutely love this idea! But, would like for our daughter to still have her ‘own name,’ so to speak. So, we have decided to give her two honour middle names. Our last name, which begins with the letter ‘S,’ is one syllable, which prevents a first name and two middle names from being over the top.
The two middle names will be [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Anne[/name_f]. My husband is adamant that [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] be the first of the two…for my grandmother whom my family and I nursed during her final years.
So, if we have a daughter, she will be called _______ [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] S_____, and this is where we have a potential problem.
The dilemma:
Our favourite options for a first name all begin with the letter ‘S’ — [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_f]Sabina[/name_f]/[name_f]Sabrina[/name_f], [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f].
This would make her initials SEAS. Is this a problem?
Obviously we encounter a similar problem with other first names that begin with certain letters like ‘P,’ but should we find a first name that will not mean her initials spell a word?
