Initials VCR ok? Or other MN suggestions :)

We are having trouble coming up with girl middle names we like and would [name]LOVE[/name] suggestions from all of you.

We are looking for a one syllable middle name that is sophisticated enough to go with the first name [name]Vivienne[/name]. Our last name is 3 syllables long and starts with “R”.

We have ruled out obvious one-syllable middle names [name]Rose[/name], [name]Grace[/name], [name]Faith[/name], [name]Jean[/name], and [name]May[/name] for various reasons. It feels like there is nothing left.

We [name]LOVE[/name] the middle name [name]Claire[/name], but would end up with VCR as intials. :frowning:

honestly, i don’t think many ppl pay attention to initials in the long run. and your kid probably won’t even know what a vcr is anyways. they barely sell them anymore. they are quickly fazing out. :slight_smile: i think it’s a lovely name. [name]LOVE[/name] claire too.

I see why you ruled out those names but I have a weak spot for [name]Rose[/name] but I think these can work:

[name]Doe[/name] (A deer and not like [name]Zoe[/name])

I really would love to get away with [name]Claire[/name]. VCR - if the new generation has no idea what it is, I guess it would not hurt. Would love if I could get away with that…[name]Claire[/name] is such a pretty middle name and works well with [name]Vivienne[/name] [name]IMO[/name].

I agree [name]Rose[/name] would be pretty. [name]Rose[/name] is actually a family name. Many people in my family have [name]Rose[/name] as their mn. My future [name]Vivienne[/name]'s older cousin is named [name]Rosemarie[/name], and that is one reason why I am steering away. But the main reason is that [name]Rose[/name] is honoring my grandma [name]Rosemarie[/name]. My other grandma is very sweet and kind of sensitive and I don’t want to hurt her feelings. That may sound silly, but I could see it making her a bit sad (even though she would never say so). (By the way, that grandmother’s name is too long to work and I am not a huge fan of the way it sounds.)

Thanks for the other name suggestions. They are great middle names. I am still not loving them with [name]Vivienne[/name].

[name]Vivienne[/name] [name]Claire[/name] is gorgeous. I don’t think the initials are a big deal.

I agree. My nephew has the initials DVS, like devious, no one has ever noticed. I dont think initials are all that important. Also, I dont think my sisters 5 year old even knows what a VCR is :slight_smile:

I agree with pps you don’t use your initial’s all that much, and many children don’t even know what a vcr is! but here are some suggestions just in case…

I think VCR won’t matter and I agree with the previous poster. Your child probably won’t even know what it is. It’s a gorgeous name.

Thank you all for your words of encouragement. I think we will go with this name combo afterall. I suppose [name]Vivienne[/name] [name]Claire[/name] is too pretty of a name to let outdated technology ruin :wink:
