Initials with dutch surname

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries I’ve posted before and still struggling with this and need reassurance or a solution please!

We named our beautiful two year old daughter Emm@ J0seph1ne surname is dutch two words v… L…

I’m trying not to put her name in incase she googles all of this one day! Anyway two people have pointed out that her initials without her middle name is E V L. and i am so upset about this and that we didn’t think this through 2 years ago. I’m wondering if I’ve set her up for a life time of teasing my mind is running wild!

Anyway my question is realistically can you just use the v as an initial and drop the L when signing things? ( no one in my husbands family has a name that starts with E and now I know why!) And they all sign their initials including the L so its either RVL or TVL no one uses their middle issue as their surname already has two letters.

I know there are worse initials out there and there are worse things that can happen in life but isn’t it my job to protect my child and give her the best start? I feel giving her these initials was really thoughtless and something I will regret for the rest of my life.

Sorry for being dramatic!! As I said I just need reassurance or a solution so I can move on.

One thought I had was changing her name formally to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or something that [name_f]Emma[/name_f] could be short for but she is called [name_f]Emma[/name_f]. Or adding another first name (husband doesnt want me to swap the middle to the front) So at least officially she doesn’t have those initials and she can decide when she’s older if its an issue or not. I know she is two and knows her name and i am not suggesting to change it but just giving her an option down the track Am I nuts? Actually please don’t answer that!!!

Thanks in advance for any responses!! X

Sorry for any spelling mistakes or grammar have been procrastinating about creating this one last post and madly typing on my phone.

[name_u]Haven[/name_u]'t you asked this before? EVL isn’t EVIL, and EJVL is nothing like EVL.

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t worry! She’ll be fine.

Thanks and yes I have! [name_m]Just[/name_m] finding it very difficult to process so need a bit more reassurance I guess. Hard for some people to imagine but can’t help the way I feel at the moment. Thank you for replying !!

You are way overreacting. Seriously. Let. It. Go.

If you are in the US, her surname isn’t VL anyways. It’s just V. This is coming from someone whose got a Ditch V surname in her family and lives in an area with a lot of Dutch surnames.

LET IT GO.

First of all her name is very very common. Using @ and numbers doesn’t actually make it impossible to google.

You’re overrating. [name_m]Just[/name_m] because they use three initials doesn’t mean she will. It’s a personal decision.

There is no need to change her name.

Thanks for the tip! And the advice!

Thanks for replying! I do try and move on then get all anxious. Crazy I know. Thanks anyway
