Input needed, Please.. Veira?

  • main title error - Viera **

What do you think of the name honestly?

What do you think the correct spelling is
& how would you pronouce it?

I’ve been saying Ve-air-uh or V-era (like era of time)…

What would you spell it [name_f]Viera[/name_f], [name_f]Veira[/name_f], [name_f]Vieira[/name_f] (which is said to be scallop - not the meaning Im after), or some other way?

Somewhat of a re visitation to good ol’ [name_f]Vera[/name_f]

If I looked at it quickly, I’d probably say vay-rah. Idk how I feel about it. [name_f]Vera[/name_f] is such a pretty name, and [name_f]Veira[/name_f] feels not quite right.

When I saw [name_f]Veira[/name_f] I thought it was [name_f]Keira[/name_f].

I pr. It Vay-rah.

Its an okay name, not my favorite. I prefer [name_f]Vera[/name_f].

Woops* Main title was supposed to read [name_f]Viera[/name_f]*

Sorry guys… [name_f]Kinda[/name_f] like [name_u]Sierra[/name_u] but the feel of [name_f]Vera[/name_f] drug out. . What do you think?

I say veer-a like [name_f]Vera[/name_f] Wang. It’s a pretty name

I prefer the more straight-forward [name_f]Vera[/name_f]. I would pronounce [name_f]Viera[/name_f] rhyming with [name_u]Sierra[/name_u], but with a shorter “ee” sound, if that makes sense.

The Nameberry entry says it’s a Russian and Czech version of [name_f]Vera[/name_f], but all the Russians I know with this name are just called [name_f]Vera[/name_f], though the pronunciation is a little like Vyera.

If its [name_f]Viera[/name_f]…

I like it. Vee-eh-rah. Reminds me a little of [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] [name_f]Viera[/name_f] but it works.

I also think of meredith [name_f]Viera[/name_f] (vee-eh-rah) so I get an old lady vibe from the name

That’s who I think of, too. Because of her, I don’t see it as a first or middle name, just a surname.

[name_f]Viera[/name_f] is accurate in sound but not in spelling. According to Behind the Name, the spelling would still be translated into [name_f]Vera[/name_f].

I didnt know who [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] [name_f]Vieira[/name_f] was until now lol…But thats kinda the pn I was looking at… does it not sound like a decent alternative to classic [name_f]Vera[/name_f]?

I have it on my list and I pronounce it veer-a

If its [name_f]Viera[/name_f], then vee-air-uh. Used to be a footballer named [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] [name_f]Viera[/name_f] so I’d say the name the same as his surname as its my only association with it.

I would say [name_f]Vera[/name_f] as [name_m]VEER[/name_m]-ah. I would pause more at [name_f]Veira[/name_f], but i’d just assume it was pronounced like the name [name_f]Keira[/name_f]…so also [name_m]VEER[/name_m]-ah. The only way I’d automatically say Vee-[name_f]AIR[/name_f]-ah, would be if it were spelled Vierra.
