Boy, do I love these names. Not sure what it is about them. Any thoughts? Also would love to hear middles and nicknames.

Constantine or [name_m]Cordovan[/name_m]!

I like [name_m]Vance[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_m]Cordovan[/name_m]. I also (perhaps bizarrely) like how [name_m]Cordovan[/name_m] reminds me of corduroy, one of my favorite childhood fabrics and words.

I love pretty much all of these. Only not a fan of [name_m]Cornell[/name_m] (too associated with the university, plus “corn”) and [name_m]Cadwallader[/name_m] (actually really cool, but probably a bit much!)

My favourites are [name_m]Corentin[/name_m], [name_u]Constantine[/name_u], [name_m]Caradoc[/name_m] and [name_u]Campion[/name_u].

You might also like [name_m]Caliban[/name_m], [name_m]Cormoran[/name_m], [name_m]Corcoran[/name_m] and [name_m]Cymbeline[/name_m]? :blue_heart:

Yes, [name_m]Cornell[/name_m] for the college, though I have positive associations with them and also I think of [name_m]Cornell[/name_m] Woolrich or Woodrich (?), a vintage mystery writer.

Cadwallader is a bit much! Though [name_u]Wally[/name_u] could bring it down to reality.

Thanks for reminding me of [name_m]Corcoran[/name_m] which I love. I have fantasy twins of [name_m]Corcoran[/name_m] and [name_m]Halloran[/name_m].

Cormoran I have never heard before, though I like [name_m]Cormorant[/name_m] as a middle name.

Cymbeline is gorgeous, but even though I know it’s male it reminds me too much of [name_f]Cendrillon[/name_f].

And [name_m]Caliban[/name_m], I can’t get past The [name_u]Tempest[/name_u].

Thanks!

I realize that I forgot [name_m]Calendar[/name_m] and [name_m]Cormac[/name_m].

Constantine, [name_m]Caradoc[/name_m], [name_u]Cerulean[/name_u] and [name_m]Carnelian[/name_m] are my favorites :slightly_smiling_face:

What would folks nickname these names?

I like [name_m]Stan[/name_m] for [name_u]Constantine[/name_u], [name_u]Jem[/name_u] for [name_m]Carnelian[/name_m], [name_u]Cary[/name_u] for [name_m]Caradoc[/name_m], Camp for [name_u]Campion[/name_u], [name_m]Vance[/name_m] for [name_m]Cordovan[/name_m], and [name_u]Cal[/name_u] for [name_m]Calendar[/name_m].

[name_u]Neil[/name_u] for [name_m]Carnelian[/name_m], [name_u]Cory[/name_u] for [name_m]Cordovan[/name_m] or Corentine, [name_u]Cam[/name_u] for [name_u]Campion[/name_u], Caddy or [name_m]Doug[/name_m] for [name_m]Cadogan[/name_m], [name_u]Wally[/name_u] (or Caddy) for [name_m]Cadwallader[/name_m].

I also love the ideas of [name_u]Jem[/name_u] for [name_m]Carnelian[/name_m], [name_m]Stan[/name_m] for [name_u]Constantine[/name_u], [name_u]Cary[/name_u] for [name_m]Caradoc[/name_m].

I like [name_u]Constantine[/name_u], [name_m]Caradoc[/name_m], and [name_m]Cadogan[/name_m]. Also [name_m]Cordovan[/name_m], though we have a small but well-known town Cordova here, so that’s what I and most people I know would think of. I like [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], too.
C is a fun letter; on my lists I have [name_m]Caedmon[/name_m], [name_m]Cabot[/name_m], [name_m]Crispin[/name_m], [name_m]Cadoc[/name_m], Callistus/Callisto, and (for fun) [name_u]Coriander[/name_u]. (He could be [name_u]Cory[/name_u] or [name_u]Andy[/name_u]/Ander(s)!) On my radar are [name_m]Cadfael[/name_m], Cadfan and Cafall, too.
Along the lines of [name_m]Stan[/name_m] for [name_u]Constantine[/name_u], [name_m]Celadon[/name_m] could be [name_m]Don[/name_m]/Donnie (like [name_m]Ron[/name_m]/Ronnie for [name_u]Oberon[/name_u]). [name_u]Cerulean[/name_u] and [name_m]Corentin[/name_m] could be [name_u]Rue[/name_u] and [name_u]Ren[/name_u] if you liked those on boys. Maybe even [name_u]Lee[/name_u] for [name_u]Cerulean[/name_u].

Have you considered [name_u]Corrigan[/name_u]?

Coriander is another idea!

I like [name_u]Coriander[/name_u], thanks! [name_m]Can[/name_m]’t stand [name_u]Cory[/name_u] though for any gender, alas.

Is [name_u]Corrigan[/name_u] a brand name of kitchen tile? Cool word, but it’s all I could think of.

It might well be, I just found it in my baby name book yesterday

Oh, I love [name_m]Cabot[/name_m], [name_m]Crispin[/name_m] (and [name_m]Crispian[/name_m]) and [name_m]Cadfael[/name_m], though I have no idea how to pronounce the last one.

I wonder why c produces such a rich array of male names (at least for me).

I love [name_u]Douglas[/name_u]/Doug/Dougal, etc. so am excited to hear your idea of [name_m]Doug[/name_m] for [name_m]Cadogan[/name_m]!

i favorites are caradoc and carnelian (cornelius’ sibling?)

my only bone to pick is with corentin. in the age of covid and quarantine, that’s a bit too close sounding for me. i love cor or coren / corin, though.

NB says CAD-vyle or CAD-vel for [name_m]Cadfael[/name_m]. It’s Welsh, as are Cadfan and Cafall, so the single F is a V sound (no, I don’t speak Welsh–I wish!–and so I can hardly even try to approximate the double L in Cafall.)

My favourite two from your list are [name_u]Constantine[/name_u], I would either use [name_u]Connie[/name_u] or [name_m]Stan[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] & [name_m]Cadwallader[/name_m] for that I would use [name_m]Al[/name_m], Der or Caddy as a nickname
