Interesting quote on baby names

A quote that I saw online today and thought that I would share with you all…

“Give your daughters difficult names. Give your daughters names that command the full use of tongue. My name makes you want to tell me the truth. My name doesn’t allow me to trust anyone that cannot pronounce it right.”

Unfortunately I only copied down the quote and the speaker, and I haven’t been able to find it again so I don’t know who said it (and therefore what their unusual name was).

I just thought it was really interesting and wanted to hear people’s thiughts on what it is suggesting about baby naming.

I love unusual names and my future daughter will probably have unusual name, but I would never give her “hard name”. Keep in mind that I find names that are relatively unheard, like Melusina/[name_f]Sunniva[/name_f]/[name_f]Eliska[/name_f]/[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]/[name_f]Sonnet[/name_f]/Valkyrie relatively usable. What I consider hard name is [name_u]Ennis[/name_u], [name_f]Candida[/name_f] (actually real historic name, but unusable), [name_m]Adolf[/name_m]… there were more “hard-to-wear” names, but I forgot about them. I’m more relaxed person than most berries when it comes to names and jokes, so I find Nimue usable in the middle, I find initials BJ, TIT, BS, PM, BMW, [name_f]CAT[/name_f], CAR all usable because people don’t notice initials that much.

The author of the quote probably meant unheard of or rare names.
