Thanks! I guess I should have said, I’m trying to avoid using a surname! These are cute suggestions!
Yeah. Irish people don’t use surnames at all. With the exception of [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]. But that’s a modern phenomenon.
Where are you based? I’m thinking if you’re not [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] it’s best to avoid any names with difficult spelling.
Anyhow:

I wouldn’t worry about hard to spell for a middle. I’d do whatever I wanted, that I found beautiful. I am missing accent marks on this though, excuse that please.
I have omitted the hard C names I really like, like [name_m]Callum[/name_m] etc. because they get smashed by the k of [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]. Made for a much shorter list.
[name_u]Aidan[/name_u] - I know it’s very popular but [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] is pretty, [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] is such a classic saint’s name, and the “another -ayden” aspect is vastly reduced in the middle.
[name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] - Hard enough I’d only use it in the middle, but I really like it.
[name_u]Darragh[/name_u] - I like this spelling best and I like the sound of it, somewhat like [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] which has become very popular.
[name_m]Eoin[/name_m] - I like [name_u]Owen[/name_u] too though.
[name_m]Ruairi[/name_m] - or [name_u]Rory[/name_u], if you want
[name_m]Oran[/name_m] - I’m fond of this one.
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] - Very simple, clean lines, probably the easiest of easy middles but [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is pretty unassailable.
[name_m]Oisin[/name_m] - I’ve always heard this more like o-sheen though
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m] - I love this one. Can’t ever use it with our (incompatible) Irish surname, so I wish other people would.
[name_m]Gareth[/name_m] - Feels very knightly, to me.
[name_m]Lonan[/name_m] - I found this on a list and liked its meaning, I don’t know if it’s ever used.
[name_m]Jarlath[/name_m] - Very underused
[name_m]Alasdair[/name_m] - Go back and forth between this spelling and [name_m]Alastair[/name_m]
[name_m]Llewelyn[/name_m] - I just really like it
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u] - Another simple, smooth name.
[name_u]Dylan[/name_u] - Mainstream, but still appealing
[name_m]Alan[/name_m] - With a single l, rather gallant. I associate it with [name_u]Robin[/name_u] Hood.
I also like [name_u]Shane[/name_u], which isn’t very authentic at all, so it depends how much of a stickler you want to be.
[name_u]Rory[/name_u]
