After DH said he hated [name_f]Juno[/name_f], I came here seeking help. After creating a new list to go over with him, I caught him calling our [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_m]Chuck[/name_m]-lo. One of many [name_m]Chuck[/name_m] related NNs. I remembered that I agreed to [name_m]Charles[/name_m] only if [name_m]Chuck[/name_m] was never used. I pointed that out to him and told him [name_f]Juno[/name_f] was back in. He decided he could use the NN JJ.
Fast forward to today. We tried to get my almost 5yo with minor speech issues to say [name_f]Juno[/name_f], he could only say [name_u]Gene[/name_u]-o. That just makes me cringe, so unless he can start saying [name_f]Juno[/name_f], it is not happening for us.
We learned today that my c/s would probably be between march 15-18. FIL’s side is 100% Irish and I have some as well, so DH is really into finding an Irish name. Thankfully our boy name [name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] works! I am ignoring all my rules and asking for a fun Irish girl names that hopefully has a NN feel about it or has a fun NN to it.
MN options would be [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. Last name is the first 4 letters on my screen name.
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Roisin[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] - [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] [name_m]Rush[/name_m] might be a bit much ‘sh’ actually, or really cool, can’t decide!
[name_f]Saoirse[/name_f]
[name_f]Sorcha[/name_f]
[name_f]Ailis[/name_f]
[name_f]Aisling[/name_f]
I really like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], but I have always seen it in the MN position. [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] might work and brings [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] into the name. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] has been on our long list in the past, so maybe it is time to bring it back. [name_f]Roisin[/name_f] is beautiful, but I think I have to side with it being to much with our last name. I love [name_f]Aisling[/name_f], but have a friend with a daughter by that name. For similar conflicts [name_f]Erin[/name_f], [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f], [name_f]Tara[/name_f]. [name_f]Molly[/name_f], [name_f]Megan[/name_f], [name_f]Deirdre[/name_f] and [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] wont work.
It seems that most names I am familiar with, we know people with that name. Or in the case of [name_f]Nola[/name_f], I know a kennel with that name. A few others I have actual looked up in the past but cant pronounce consistently for the life of me ([name_f]Carys[/name_f].)
[name_f]Aibhilin[/name_f] might be perfect if I could ever spell it! DH has a grandma [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], but I said no in the past because it is too common. I will bring it up with him. It means wished for child and after 3 boys, and 2 nephews, if I get my girl, it would be very fitting for me and my mom!
