Hello everyone. We’re expecting number 1 in [name_u]December[/name_u] and still haven’t really come up with any names we feel like considering. We don’t know the gender, and are not sure when we want to find out. We’ve realized that we’ve come across a dilemma though, that’s restricting us to names. He’s Irish, and I’m Greek, and we both want the name to be from our cultures. Any ideas of how to overcome this?
You can try Irish versions of Greek names, like:
Eireen/Éirín (Irene)
Piaras/Pierce (Peter)
Alastar (Alexander)
Agata (Agatha)
Steise (Anastasia)
Baibin (Barbara)
Caitrin/Caitriona (Catherine)
Dairinn (Dorothy)
Owen/Eoghan (Eugene)
Tomas (Thomas)
Or you could have a Greek first name, Irish middle name or vice versa. Hope that helps.
Thank you.
I would do the first name from one side and the middle name from the other. I’ve always known people who gave the boys names from the father’s side and the girls names from the mother’s.
