I prefer [name_u]Ember[/name_u], probably because I know alot of Amber’s and don’t like any of them.

I don’t think of [name_f]Amber[/name_f] as dated, but I feel like it’s a little off-putting due to [name_f]Amber[/name_f] Alerts (in the US). It’s just a tough association, for me.
I definitely prefer [name_u]Ember[/name_u]. It’s on my list! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it for any gender
I think [name_f]Amber[/name_f] is dated. I like it though.
[name_u]Ember[/name_u] feels more fresh but I still prefer [name_f]Amber[/name_f].
Yes, it is dated but I still think it’s pretty. A name being more common in a previous time period isn’t necessarily a bad thing- there’s plenty of dated names I like.
Interestingly, I serve a lot of international students at work who have taken on English names for while they’re in school here and dated “cool girl” names like [name_f]Amber[/name_f] and [name_f]Tiffany[/name_f] are really popular with them. They’re kind of making them new for me again!
It feels dated to me, but I like it!
I like [name_f]Amber[/name_f] and I prefer it to [name_u]Ember[/name_u]. I don’t think I know anyone with either name so I don’t have a particular age associated with it (though I like to imagine a young teen or preteen) so it doesn’t feel dated to me
