[name_u]Read[/name_u] that it’s Italian but also read it’s Spanish too, anyone have a definite answer???
I’ve always thought it was Latin.
Aurora is the word ‘dawn’ in Latin, so I would expect it is naturally both Italian and Spanish, as they are both romance languages descended from Latin. I would say Italian first, though!
Both Spanish and Italian are descended from Latin, so both languages have a claim to it in a sense. It’s ultimately Latin.
Dawn is Madrugada in Spanish, so the translation isn’t as literal there.
Is [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] in Italian?
I think it’s Latin, but it works in Italian, Spanish, [name_m]German[/name_m], Finnish, Portuguese and [name_f]English[/name_f].
I think it’s a word, but not the most common way to say it!
I don’t speak Italian as well, but according to what I can find, [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] is a way of saying [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] in Italian, but it’s not the most common.
Aurora is a mythological name. She was the goddess of the dawn in Ancient [name_u]Rome[/name_u]. As such, any country of the [name_m]Roman[/name_m] Empire has claim to her as a goddess, and thus as a name.
Won’t repeat what others have said but it’s hugely popular in [name_f]Italy[/name_f] right now. Number 3 in 2019. The Italian top ten girls is just dreamy.
Despite the prevalence of A names, it isn’t in the top 100 in Spain.
I believe it’s originally Latin, but is very popular in [name_f]Italy[/name_f]!
