I recently heard of the name [name_m]Callen[/name_m] and can’t get it out of my head now! It doesn’t seem to have much history in the US yet it sounds familiar somehow…Anyone have any idea where it came from? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like it for a brother to [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]? I like the nickname option of [name_u]Cal[/name_u] and also that it would be a way to (sort of) honor my dad [name_m]Allen[/name_m] but with a fresher name.
[name_m]Callen[/name_m] is a surname. [name_m]Callen[/name_m] is a TV character played by [name_u]Chris[/name_u] O’[name_m]Donnell[/name_m] on NCIS. I don’t care for it too much. I prefer the similar [name_m]Colin[/name_m] with a brother named [name_m]Lucas[/name_m].

I love the spunky [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] with [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you call [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] by his full name or by the nn [name_m]Luke[/name_m]? [name_m]Callum[/name_m]/[name_m]Calum[/name_m] is actually Scottish but no matter. [name_m]Callum[/name_m] would be my second choice. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_m]Eamon[/name_m], [name_m]Ewan[/name_m] or [name_u]Evan[/name_u]?
I like [name_m]Callan[/name_m]/[name_m]Callen[/name_m] a lot, actually! From what I’ve heard, it has legitimate origins, but I think [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Callum[/name_m] are more familiar, and people generally associate [name_m]Callen[/name_m] to NCIS: Los [name_f]Angeles[/name_f]. He’s a cool character, though, and it’s a pretty cool name. I prefer it with the [name_m]Callan[/name_m] spelling. I think [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and [name_m]Callum[/name_m] are fine, too, but I would love to see [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]! [name_m]Griffin[/name_m]'s okay, and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] are nice, but I’ve never been a huge [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] fan. I grew up with one, but now, for some reason, it seems so overrated to me. There’s nothing wrong with it–I’m just not a huge fan.
Thanks for the responses. We only call [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] by his full name so far (he’s just 2.5). I like having the option of [name_m]Luke[/name_m] for him someday though…So glad [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] makes sense as a sibling and [name_m]Callum[/name_m] too. Im a big fan of both names!
[name_m]Both[/name_m] [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and [name_m]Callum[/name_m] were on my boys list when I was pregnant with my daughter!
I’m not a fan of [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] but it does work as a brother to [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]. [name_m]Callan[/name_m]/[name_m]Callen[/name_m] is on my list! [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I don’t usually go for trendy names (which I think [name_m]Callen[/name_m] is), I don’t care about [name_m]Callen[/name_m] being trendy.
[name_m]Callen[/name_m] in certainly a name. I heard it for the first time about 3 years ago when I met a little boy while visiting the pediatrician. It’s an alternate to [name_m]Callum[/name_m] or [name_m]Cullen[/name_m], and I can definitely see what you see in the name.
I think it goes wonderful with [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], and it’s awesome that it can honor an [name_m]Allen[/name_m], too.
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband loves the name [name_m]Callen[/name_m] because of NCIS. I think it is a great name!
