Is Esther too common?

Is [name_f]Esther[/name_f] too common? I never thought of it as a common name but it’s in the top 100 I believe. I’ve never actually met anyone names [name_f]Esther[/name_f] but I’m in love with this name. I think she would go by Etsy. Opinions??

I think Esther is really cute, especially with the nickname Etsy. It’s definitely not too common, at least not amongst children. I’ve only ever met/heard of one Esther, so I think you’re safe.

I’ve only met two Esthers in my life - one is 45, the other is 2. It’s a classy, intriguing and spunky name. I love it!

I’m actually surprised it’s at #165 because I only met my first [name_f]Esther[/name_f] last year. She’s about 50. Considering there aren’t a ton of names like it, I’d say definitely not too popular. Not unless you really care about being distinct. I can see “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” giving [name_f]Esther[/name_f] a boost.

I wouldn’t say that it’s too popular. It’s one of those names you know is popular, but you never really meet one. I only knew one, and she’s about 16.

Definitely not too popular here in the UK! I love it. It’s streamlined, sophisticated and a little bit exotic. Known but never overused. [name_m]Just[/name_m] gorgeous, and Etsy is cute!

I’ve only ever met one [name_f]Esther[/name_f], and a friend’s cousin (whom I’ve never met and lives several states away) has that name. [name_f]Esther[/name_f] is quite distinctive and beautiful in style. Amongst many Emilys and Kaylees and Brianas, not that any of those names are bad, [name_f]Esther[/name_f] stands out for its strength.

Definitely not too popular! I love this name  It’s a secret favorite of mine!

It’s definitely not too common. It’s a familiar name, but I don’t think a lot of babies get it as their first name. It’s really pretty!

I only knew one [name_f]Esther[/name_f] growing up but never heard anywhere else after that. It’s a nice name, still fresh.

I love [name_f]Esther[/name_f]! I’ve only ever known one, so definitely not too common!

It’s a well known classic name, but definitely not too popular, especially not these days. [name_f]Esther[/name_f] is lovely:)

Absolutely not. In fact, I hardly ever hear this name (despite being familiar) and would love to meet one.

We are probably using [name_f]Esther[/name_f] if we have a girl this time, but I certainly do not think it’s common! I think it’s a “familiar” name, I.e., not made up, but not well used. I don’t know any [name_f]Esther[/name_f].

[name_f]Esther[/name_f] is not common (thank goodness). It makes me think of polyester…sorry. I don’t find it attactive and knew ladies that would be >90 years old now named [name_f]Esther[/name_f].
