I kind of love the name [name_m]Gordon[/name_m]. It’s a family name and I’d probably only ever use it as a middle name, but what does everyone think about it (although it doesn’t really matter, it’ll probably stay only a middle name option)?
I find [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] kind of charming too. It’s definitely a little fusty and clunky, but it’s ringing too. It sounds like [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] with a hard G and it makes me think of [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] Lightfoot. It evoke similar feelings to [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_m]Gregory[/name_m], although without an E in its spelling it looks heavier. I think it’s eminently fine as a middle name. I’d like it as a first, although given your other sons’ first names, I think he’d be a little bit odd one out if it was his first.
[name_m]Gordon[/name_m] is not my style, as it’s clunky and reminds me of “gordo”, which is Spanish for fat (gordón is an adjective that accentuates the word fat “very fat”, basically). I can see why it appeals though and I wouldn’t mind it in the middle as long as the first name was unique and amazing as brothers [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] and [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m]’ are!
[name_m]Gordon[/name_m] isn’t bad. It’s got a bit of clunk to it, sure, but it still works. I’m with you, jesba, I also find it [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] kind of charming as well. Plus, it’s a name that will grow with him and never feel inappropriate for his age once he’s an adult.
I like [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] and I think it’s better as mn though - [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] and [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] are so much more quirky and vibrant. I like i but it feels like the odd man out.
[name_m]Gordon[/name_m] isn’t personally my style and although I find it old-fashioned I wouldn’t be overly concerned if someone else used it. However, when introduced I would have to stop myself thinking about the train from [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] the Tank Engine.
I like the old-fashioned yet classic charm of [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] and say go for it! I know a teenager named [name_m]Gordon[/name_m] and he wears it well. I can easily see a younger person owning this name.
I think it’s cute!
