Is Hazel Grace too boring?

Hello, berries! Not often that I come here for girls names, as I find them so easy. I’ve fallen in love with so many, and my most recent one is [name_f]Hazel[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is my grandmother’s sister (can’t remember what I would call her haha.) I’ve met her a handful of times, and she’s always been super sweet and lovely. I love the name, and wouldn’t mind at all that it’s an honor name even though I’m not super close with her.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] middle name choice at first would be [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] was my mother’s [name_f]Nana[/name_f], and she loved[name_f][/name_f] her growing up. I’d love to have a little piece of her in the world for my mother. The only issue is that someone said the name [name_f]Grace[/name_f] was boring. I can see that, as it’s super common as a middle name, but I think that’s because it’s so beautiful. [name_m]Classic[/name_m] and traditional, but still with a sweet sound.

[name_f][/name_f]

So, what do you think? Is [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] too boring of a name? I also like the names [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], [name_f]Francesca[/name_f], and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] as middles. However, I’d just as quickly use those as first names, too. (Hazel & [name_f]Esme[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- so cute!!!)

[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] grace is beautiful, vintagey and classic! [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a common middle, but common didn’t mean boring. Theres a reason so many people like it!

yeah, a little bit

I like it, but it is the name of the main character in The Fault in Our Stars, which may not bother you but was very popular when I was in middle school so it definitely stands out to me. I do think it’s very pretty & not boring

[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is pretty [name_f][/name_f]- I like the nature-y, vintage vibe [name_f][/name_f]- and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] makes a sweet and solid combo.

[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]

As a [name_f]Grace[/name_f], yes, I do find it boring [name_f][/name_f]- however! it sounds like it’s a super meaningful name for you and that’s what makes it more sparkly in your combo [name_f][/name_f]- plus, you[name_f][/name_f] find it beautiful and that’s the main thing!

[name_f][/name_f]

Yes, lots of people do have [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as a middle, but that’s because it flows well, feels versatile, and has the classic, traditional qualities you like about it.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] are lovely as siblings!

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] would also be nice

I think the family connection is lovely and makes it worth it! That said – if I just saw the name and I didn’t know the significance, I would find it a bit boring. To be honest I always find [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as a middle to be rather bland, since it’s such a go-to choice it almost feels like a “default” middle name.

[name_f][/name_f]

Also seconding @auroracallista[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]— I never read/watched TFIOS but it was a huge phenomenon when I was a young teen so I do make the association, which in many ways is rather grim. I don’t think it’s a dealbreaker (especially since the book isn’t popular anymore) but it’s something to be aware of if you’re around my age and your peers would be familiar with the book/movie.

[name_f][/name_f]

I wonder if [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] would appeal to you – I personally really like it and think [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] has more character than [name_f]Grace[/name_f], but I know it’d be too cutesy for some other people’s tastes!

[name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a bit common as a middle / often used as a filler. But this [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is meaningful. Would you consider a double barrel middle like:

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] Anna-Grace
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Hazel[/name_f] Sarah-Grace
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Hazel[/name_f] Hermione-Grace
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Hazel[/name_f] Tabitha-Grace
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Hazel[/name_f] Sylvia-Grace

I might find it a bit boring if [name_f]Grace[/name_f] was the first name, but as a middle name I don’t think you should ever be discouraged by popularity. Most people probably won’t ever know her middle name, and when she’s older the meaning it has to your family will likely be more important to her than how many other people have the same name. The fact that it’s meaningful to your family makes it just as special as a more unique name would be.

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] Grace!! not boring at all.
