Is it TOO nature-y?

I’m in love with the name Elowen, [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] it. I was having such a hard time finding a middle name to pair it with until I came across [name]Juniper[/name]. I never thought of it before but after I said it a few times it just sounded SO cute together and now I adore it but I’m worried it’s too nature-y.
So, berries, what do you think of Elowen [name]Juniper[/name]? [name]Do[/name] you think it’s too much nature in one name? [name]Do[/name] you think it goes well with my daughters name ([name]Harlow[/name] [name]Lucille[/name])?

I love Elowen and if it wasn’t so similar to [name]Rowan[/name], I would use it myself. I don’t think the general public will know Elowen is a nature name, unless you live in [name]Wales[/name]. Most people don’t know name meanings and stories like Nameberries do. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think it is lovely and only thought of nature with the name [name]Juniper[/name]. It is true, a lot of people not on nameberry would have no idea what a name means, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. It is a pretty name.

[name]Love[/name] it! I don’t think it’s too nature-y at all. Like the others have said, most people won’t think of Elowen as a nature name. Plus, her full name won’t be used all that often, so it shouldn’t come up much. Besides I’m not sure there’s such a thing as too much nature

It’s too “tree” for me, elm and juniper together. If it were one of the two with something non-tree I would love it, like Elowen [name]Juno[/name] or [name]Elodie[/name] [name]Juniper[/name]. Sorry!

It is too nature-ey for me. I also don’t particularly like the flow of the name, repeating 3 syllables…

I love Elowen, it’s really gentle, beautiful and distinctive - [name]Juniper[/name] is spunky too.

What I notice is the name is that Elowen is very similiar to your daughter [name]Harlow[/name]. Is this intended? They are very different styles though.

It’s not nature-y on the surface because Elowen is not a word like [name]Elm[/name] or [name]Rose[/name] it just has a nature meaning

I’m more bothered by the flow. Elowen [name]Juniper[/name] is quite clunky

[name]Love[/name] it and I don’t think they’re too nature-y. They’re not obvious nature names.

I just love love love Elowen! I don’t think there too naturey at all, there not actual flowers or anything just have a nature meaning. It’s just beautiful.

A juniper is an actual plant, though, not just a meaning?

I’m more hung up on the rhythm than the meanings. Elowen [name]Juno[/name] or Elowen [name]June[/name] seems less clunky?

[name]Juniper[/name] Elowen seems to flow more easily to me, but I like Elowen more.

I like it quite a bit.

I wouldn’t notice, as I didn’t realise that Elowen means tree. Maybe do another thread where you ask people if they know what Elowen means without looking it up, to gauge what associations people might have with Elowen?

Overall, I like Elowen [name]Juniper[/name], and think it works well with [name]Harlow[/name]. Maybe if you’re still worried about it though you could try:
Elowen [name]Junia[/name]
Elowen [name]Juno[/name]
Elowen [name]June[/name]
Elowen [name]Juneau[/name]

Yep, there is a [name]Juniper[/name] tree, it’s an actual plant!

I like both names, not together because it’s not my style, but there’s nothing wrong with the amount of syllables (kids with two middle names have lots of syllables too lol), and it’s not too nature-y for non-berries, I bet when you meet people that ‘get it’, they’ll just smile

lol, I didn’t even know Elowen was a nature name. I really like Elowen [name]Juniper[/name], although I agree with @stripedsocks that Elowen [name]Juno[/name]/[name]June[/name] flows better. I do really like Elowen [name]Juniper[/name], though.

I edited my earlier post for sounding like I was asking if junipers were real, lol.

I know they’re real, that’s where I get my gin.

I have weird mental hang-ups about using multiple nature names on one kid, even in multiple languages. Botanicals are my favourite category but I don’t tend to like them double-barrelled. But, I must say, Elowen is a pretty subtle one unless you’re deep in Cornish-speaking country. It would only bother complete nerds like myself.

I have more of a problem with flow than it being naturey… Elowen [name]Juniper[/name] doesn’t flow well in my opinion, but because not very many people will know that Elowen means elm tree, I think that part of it is fine.

Elowen [name]Juniper[/name] is fine as a combo and I don’t think that most of the population would know that Elowen was a nature name. What would bother me more is the fact that [name]Harlow[/name] and Elowen are very similar in look.

I don’t think most people know what Elowen means. I had to look it up. I think its a very nice name and since its so unknown to “[name]America[/name]” you can get away with two tree names. I love nature names, I wish my husband was more onboard

Elowen and [name]Harlow[/name] make an adorable set.

I don’t think most people will recognize Elowen as a nature name and the combo sounds good together. It’s not as if it’s as obvious as something like [name]Lily[/name]-[name]Rose[/name], for example. (I adore Elowen as well, and I named one of my favorite Sims this since I won’t be having children any time soon).
