What is your opinion on the name Embrun? Cool? Wearable? Too out there?
Embrun is a community in the Canadian province of [name_m]Ontario[/name_m], named after a [name_m]French[/name_m] commune located in southeastern [name_f]France[/name_f]. Embrun is also a french word and it means “fine rain / mist formed by the ocean waves”.
It is too out there for me and I think he will have to repeat it when people hear it for the first time so I don’t think it would be easily wearable. I do like the meaning of Embrun but personally, would prefer it in the middle spot.
I actually like Emburn quite a bit! Though till I checked which forum it was in I thought it was a girls’ name pronounced emb-arn/emb-ern. If it’s pronounced like emb-oorn then it sounds quite masculine.
I find it usable because of the familiar and trendy [name_f]Em[/name_f]- beginning and the overall pleasant sound.
I actually really like the sound of Embrun! I also love the meaning. There might be some spelling/pronunciation issues, but I think its maybe familiar sounding enough that it wouldn’t be a huge problem.
I think it sounds very handsome, and is definitely usable! It would also make a great middle, if you’re unsure about it working as a first!
The meaning is cool, but I think it’s a little too out there for a first name; I’d use it as a middle. Pronunciation is unclear and there could be difficulties with spelling.
This is a name that definitely makes me go WOW on NB! ”
My fav combo- never heard of it and awesome ethereal meaning.
[name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce it in English if the word is [name_m]French[/name_m]? I know how to pronounce it in [name_m]French[/name_m]… are you in [name_m]French[/name_m]-speaking [name_f]Canada[/name_f]? Are people familiar with the word?
[name_u]Love[/name_u] it, although the letter combo feels a bit confusing on first impression (I will blame the -mbr- and because it doesn’t end on a vowel, so is also gender-ambiguous.)
I don’t know how to pronounce but since names like [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] and [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] are quiet popular Embrun could be wearable too at least as a middle name if it’s too out there as a first name.
